Tough one tonight. Very nice puzzle.
Tough one tonight. Very nice puzzle.
Amazing. I was stumped at first, so I went on to the other puzzles. Six minutes later, I'm still 39th. I guess I wasn't the only one stuck. :)
I must say that I didn't know what the top pic was. Was totally on the wrong road there. (not salt)

Nice puzzle. For some reason it clicked for me right away.
[1] I agree. Tough one tonight. Very nice puzzle.
[1] I agree. Tough one tonight. Very nice puzzle.
totally lost
I got stuck for a while trying to use the "usual" word for the last picture...
Any salt?
I kept wanting to add 'yes', 'pro' or 'for' to indicate that it wasn't one of the "anti" options. I was wrong to think that. I should have just gone with the basics. Still 68th after 12 minutes.
If you think it's hard it's not you
73rd after 13 minutes
You solved this puzzle in 10 minutes and 16 seconds and were the 54th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 57 points for solving this.
I got stumped, went and solved the OWW and the Hypercross, then came back, had my "a-ha" moment, and still got 57th. Unusual for a Cryptopix. Clever puzzle, Sonjahi. A tough one tonight.
72nd after 12 minutes, 12 seconds. Not the standard times for Cryptos.
It's a good puzzle, though. I was all around it for those 12 minutes, but finally I put the pieces together properly.
Toughie but a goodie, sonjahi! And a true statement, indeed!
Tricky one, Sonjahi. It seems like puzzle creators on Tanga have always used the bottom picture to represent something else. Kind of the "go to" picture for that word. So I kept trying to make sense of it using that word for the longest time. But that's what makes it a good puzzle. Thanks!
For salt, how about: Like a good computer programmer, use a top down solving method.
OK, so I didn't say it was GOOD salt....
Tough way to clue a puzzle...easy otherwise...
be sure to use the singular and not the plural for the last word ...
Gee, thanks for all the salt here, NOT!
You solved this puzzle in 17 minutes and 2 seconds and were the 98th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 13 points for solving this.
I kept using the positions of the words. Don't need it! And it IS a truism!
Not getting it yet. :(
I fear change
Finally got it.
For those still having trouble, the top is a picture of what is found in many a front door.
Say it fast, add the letter and take the bottom picture for exactly what it is.
Wow, I feel really silly missing that now. Thanks [25].
#25 thanks for the salt, helped a lot.
I don't get how the crossed out ones help at all to solve this.
I guess sonjahi did use the second picture differently than what we are used to - trying to be a rebel I see.
Certainly showed us to stop walking the beaten path.
Thanks [25]
[27] completely agree! Threw me entirely off track.
the 156th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
Learned my lesson, sonjahi!
Wow, didn't think it was that obvious :( salt: color and quantity have nothing to do with it.
Robin Williams did a guest stunt on L&O SVU about this. Awesome!
I think i spent too much time trying to tanga it... I had 18th hole and was looking for a golf reference. still stuck though...
Got here late but it came to me straight away.
Good puzzle!
amazing how preconceived notions can 'hinder' solving puzzles.
[35] no doubt. I got stuck because I used the 'usual' word for the bottom picture. Looks like her saying was true for me!
[25] did it for me. I was thinking Room R, like rumor. That's not it.
LOL, was looking at comments seeing how difficult this one is/was. The wife looked at it and solved in 5-10 seconds. I agree with the [35] about preconceived notions.
wow - that was a stretch for me!!
[32] thanks for the salt ...
Don't really think the other 3 items with the red circle/slash are needed - just makes the puzzle harder, I guess. Once I ignored those, the puzzle was pretty easy!
[40] i agree. they threw me off.
You solved this puzzle in 2 minutes and 15 seconds and were the 299th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
[25] Great Salt. I was just answering it like I usually, do. Not really giving it much thought.
I'm glad to see this puzzle went over well. I have really enjoyed seeing other directions people went (besides the obvious intended misdirections, of course). Room R and the 18th hole. Those are really cool! :)
I just can't get the right format...had the concept right away, just can't get the right placement. C'est la vie.
@ [9] me too thanks
so hard yet so simple
You solved this puzzle in 4 minutes and 45 seconds and were the 478th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this. ..thanks to [25] Rickj4029's comment i was able to get it.
Ewe really stumped me on this one! good puzzle though
[19] are you being funny since the word for the last picture is used for one or many?
i thought it was a door knob!
GRR! the picture looks suspiciously like a Door Knob - now i know what it is, it's pretty obvious but still.
You solved this puzzle in 16 seconds and were the 561st Tanga member to solve it. You earned 3 points for solving this.
Love it cause its true!
You solved this puzzle in 25 seconds and were the 701st Tanga member to solve it
[49] Totally agree with you on [19]'s salt! lol Or should I say twisted humor. ;)
Very Good puzzle BTW
