This really is a neat puzzle. Seems to kind of defeat the purpose of doing them if it's just a guess-fest.

[11] Each clue applies to one person. Yes, there is one who could apply to more than one clue, but use the clue that they are most famous for.

Cool, I enjoyed this one. Only one that I didn't get from the clue, and it was enough to get the answer around that one.
(Hey, anyone remember when answers weren't posted until the day after, so you had to try to backsolve if you got partial answers?)

nm my wife who is wonderful and awesome and oh-so-smart got it from the first and the last letter that I had.
Had a list of words I figured would work, after getting the last letter wrong once I got it right the second time and it all fit in my head.

[21] Thanks, Rocketeer! Figure some folks are just getting back from the fireworks (at least on the East Coast) and doing the puzzles.
Got enough to guess the word, but I thought a couple of the clues were way too vague. Something like 20+ of them were attorneys, weren't they? How many were authors?
[23] Did you try googling the title? There are only 7 who are considered the main ones. Based on that, I figured matching them up to the clues wouldn't be that hard.

[26] And that really messed up the puzzle as originally planned. Because the one I was using to get a specific letter wasn't one of the seven. :( Had to rework the whole thing. *sigh*
