  2. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Oct 14, 2010 07:04 PM

never heard of the phrase no matter how "oft-quoted" it was according to google

  3. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Oct 14, 2010 07:05 PM

[1] well, he got a strike in frame 2.

  4. Avatar_profileApplejelmer52 on Oct 14, 2010 07:05 PM

  5. Avatar_profileStrawberryred9987 on Oct 14, 2010 07:06 PM

  6. FractalTomatodduensing on Oct 14, 2010 07:11 PM

know the pics....can't google a phrase that makes any sense.

the last two words seem to be the same.

  7. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Oct 14, 2010 07:13 PM

    [6] Yes they are.

I got 17th despite googling my answer first because it just didn't seem like that could be it. But it was! Wonder what I would have gotten if I had just gone with it.

  8. Avatar_profileRadishareessvee on Oct 14, 2010 07:13 PM

[6] yes plus one more is the same

  9. Lolcats_bunkeyKiwiTetralix on Oct 14, 2010 07:14 PM

No idea what it meant, but it seemed so well clued I just punched it in & bam. Nice. :]

  10. AvadoneDuckiebargellos on Oct 14, 2010 07:14 PM

    [6] correct!

  11. FractalTomatodduensing on Oct 14, 2010 07:18 PM

  12. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Oct 14, 2010 07:21 PM

  13. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Oct 14, 2010 07:21 PM

I've never heard this phrase either, but very well clued:

You solved this puzzle in 53 seconds and were the 35th Tanga member to solve it.

    Heh, 53-35, nifty.

  15. FilePumpkinJohnQ118 on Oct 14, 2010 07:54 PM

[2]oft-quoted here, but then I live here.

  16. FileAceDavidL on Oct 14, 2010 08:47 PM

I was convinced the quote had to be about cold wet stuff...nope.

  17. FileEggplantJohnS43 on Oct 14, 2010 09:06 PM

Would have made an interesting OWW to see if anyone could guess the subject of the phrase.

  18. 110719-054712Peachmerely911 on Oct 14, 2010 09:18 PM

    Really? That...was obscure.

Same with me [16]. Had to google the first word and the last two to figure out the middle...

  19. 24721_619175532102_199104311_35442319_1569800_nPeachrrsblack on Oct 14, 2010 09:47 PM

Wow I had to try that about 20 times before I got it.... That was extremely annoying. .

  20. FileTomatobcgrote on Oct 14, 2010 09:58 PM

I remember when all this was fields....

  21. FileStrawberrymasterminx on Oct 14, 2010 10:10 PM

I have never heard the phrase, but I'll surely google it now.

  22. Gracie_mae_11-20-09-a_edited-aPlumadvnewaya on Oct 14, 2010 10:24 PM

You solved this puzzle in 7 seconds and what does Gertrude know?

  23. FileSailboatrashawnsgrandma on Oct 14, 2010 10:34 PM

Thanx Philana for a real head scratcher - I had it in my head that it had the word "snow" in it! A quote from the Horse Whisperer or a lyric from a soundtrack song from that movie - that I must have retyped 12 times, thinking, the next time it will work. I know the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over & over exactly the same way but expecting the result to change! :)

  24. FilePumpkinRickj4029 on Oct 14, 2010 11:22 PM

Weird! But, then, isn't Philana known for rare and obscure!?

    This is her(?) like!

WAAAAAAAAHH! HElp me! I feel like I am so close!

  29. Avatar_profileGrapesattgig on Oct 15, 2010 07:20 AM

    never heard it before.
and in one of my google searches with everything except the second picture, the first result was the wikipedia of the person, but the preview part of the search didn't have the quote. so, I skipped over it... *sigh*

  30. Avatar_profileGrapesattgig on Oct 15, 2010 07:22 AM

[28] it is a quote, as others have said, not so famous.... (at least to me). and it's not in a song, so ignore those results =)

but, it is very well clued, so don't doubt yourself if you seem like you're repeating yourself....

  31. Avatar_profilePearblocher86 on Oct 15, 2010 08:53 AM

The clues in pictures number 1 and 2 will make 3 words

  32. Avatar_profileLemonrbrainey on Oct 15, 2010 11:29 AM

    No clue

  33. FractalTomatodduensing on Oct 15, 2010 01:48 PM

All I can say is that the quote reminds me of another one....

That that is is that that is not is not is that it it is.

    or, with the proper punctuation:
That that is, is. That that is not, is not. Is that it? It is.

    Or maybe:
James, while John had had "had", had had "had had"; "had had" had had a better effect on the teacher

  34. FilePlumreverendc on Oct 15, 2010 04:40 PM

Guess I need to read more.
