this looks like too much ambiguity and too PC for me...i give...
[7] thanks...
Took a bit of work, but still pretty good.
[1] There's no ambiguity if you follow the instructions.
[3] gosh, I hate that advice....
We do read the instructions. It's how to INTERPRET them that is causing the problem.
(no, this is not salt.)
Thank you, [7]. Your advice helped me solve it.
[3] I guess the ambiguity comes from not knowing what the instructions are
I thought I followed directions, but.....I needed to learn to count....hehe....
[3] [4] Think of how we use the first capitalized word as a VERB. Then consider that you need to make them all EQUAL (as the second capitalized word says).
[5] sum people don't have a problem with these instructions. Others can't figure what the difference is from others.
[3] did the trick for me. Thanks.
I think I get what I need to do, but I'm not sure I want to do that much work.
brain hurting....
[10] Just do a few at the front and back end and then use a crossword solver
cool concept, but definitely a lot of work even after the "ah-ha" moment making it less fun
Wow, that must have been a lot of effort to put together. Google saved me some work after only 6 letters.
[10], [13] Google auto complete....
[13] Yes, I supose so... although [12]'s approach would reduce the hassle.
[14] You have no idea how many hundreds of names I went through to find just the right ones. And then the perfectionist came out when I found the picture and I decided I wanted to match genders as well and had to hunt some more...
You solved this puzzle in 8 minutes and 12 seconds and were the 72nd Tanga member to solve it.
Finally got the answer by working backwards. I guess in the end the sum of all words got to me.
yea! top 100
Thought I had it right, but definitely do not now.
[15] ROFL!!!!
[7] got it for me.
Learned something new. Again.
Here's another for your "D'oh nut" collection! Good one, as always. Thanks!
You solved this puzzle in 25 minutes and 57 seconds and were the 89th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 22 points for solving this.
[8] gave me the solve method, a lot of work, but a fun puzzle.
[15] haha... I did that too, before I figured out what I needed to do.
Pretty straight forward, I was just trying to make everyone equal to the wrong source!
Ahh, I had it right the first time. Lots of problems:
First for taking tanga to mean more than it did
Second for using a crossword solver that doesn't have the solution
Third for failing at basic math, despite writing a program to solve the puzzle
Fourth for using google, which had similar but not the right words for me
Fun concept, tricky in that perfectionist sort of way.
Basic math failed me too... But it's doable even without writing a computer program. I did it all on my phone while lying in bed. It's 11pm and I got #99.
[5] Did it for me, problem is evidently I can't spell or add
I would have done better if I hadn't tried to add another step. If you anagram the results you get a 2 word answer that describes the group perfectly (something along the lines of "the melting pot"). So I wasted a lot of time trying to find a country that goes by that nickname.
So being a guy and all...I tried this without the instructions and produced ONABORTICIAN. Looked like a word to me, but it is not. So, I had to give in and follow the directions. Although, I have to say that I was close!!
Great puzzle!!
Just FYI...Googling that will not help you.
[28] haha! I love the names you had to give kids 4-6 to get that. Bacon? Harem? :)
Just like many many other one word wonders... this puzzle means absolutely nothing to me.
The only thing I can figure... is that maybe those kids have names... and the names are missing a letter... but those letters could be ANYTHING. I tried looking up like, Tange moderator names, but nothing.
That's the problem with names. They have no standardization.
P_NG... could be
ping, pong, pung, pang, peng.. assuming that it must be a vowel... but who knows... there is not enough information.
[30] It sounds like you are starting to be on the right track. The puzzle DOES give you information to allow you to "standardize" the names. There is something all of the names must have in common, the text hints at what this is.
Yall some devious MFs 46 minutes and 40 seconds Ill never get back
Tricky puzzle. I'm afraid I took the wimps way out and put the ones I was definite about into a 12 letter crossword solver.
It worked a treat.
the 180th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this. :P
Another one not easy for me. But I persisted and went over and over the salt, especially [7], [31]. Looking back, [8] is highly salty! [30] If I can do it you can too! Persist!
Sonjahi, you have too much time on your hands!
[29] I have an uncle named Bacon. Not really, but it would be a good name for him.
[34] Hah! This puzzle was indeed time consuming to make but I have very little time on my hands. (Judging by how thin my unpublished puzzle queue is getting). But when an idea takes hold of me, I tend to turn obsessive until I get it churned out.
[33] Bamar, that's exactly how my test solver solved it. They didn't get the clue in the title (it went through several variations before we settled on this wording) so they did what you did and got the answer and said "but you can't expect people to go there" lol
Now that I've finally gotten it, I can say for sure - you used my name! That makes me happy :)
