  6. Phi3CornPhilana on Oct 26, 2010 07:08 PM

  8. Ga_alexgrey03RocketSteve.Maldonado on Oct 26, 2010 07:12 PM

I have an answer that seems to fit the puzzle, but it's not taking it. Very strange.

  9. Avatar_profileGrapesstreetracin101 on Oct 26, 2010 07:14 PM

is that supposed to be an arrow point to the c in the second clue?

  10. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Oct 26, 2010 07:18 PM

46 seconds (some of that was the OWW) and 77th to solve. Thought I was going to have to look up the spelling, but I guessed correctly.

  11. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Oct 26, 2010 07:18 PM

[9] Yeah, it means change the B to a C.

  12. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Oct 26, 2010 07:19 PM

    [9] Yes.

  13. Avatar_profilePotatoNelat on Oct 26, 2010 07:19 PM

Funny... I always remember it because of a scene in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

  14. BjDuckiedrlaura92 on Oct 26, 2010 07:28 PM

    I never heard of it.
I probably should read the books mentioned in the solution just to be able to do these puzzles. Ended up 163rd.

  15. Avatar_profileGrapesstreetracin101 on Oct 26, 2010 07:28 PM

Wow, that was way to complicated for me. Way over thought that one.

  16. FileCarrotmmene on Oct 26, 2010 07:33 PM

    [6] - I agree.

  17. Ga_alexgrey03RocketSteve.Maldonado on Oct 26, 2010 07:33 PM

Can someone who solved this please message me? I'm having...difficulties.

  18. Avatar_959_jpg100_200x200RaspberryRocketeer on Oct 26, 2010 07:44 PM

Ugh - I'm getting too old for these puzzles! Never heard of it :-(

  19. Dscf1890Rocketigmkor66 on Oct 26, 2010 07:47 PM

I love this stuff!!! Too bad the phone rang at 1 minute before puzzle time....

  20. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Oct 26, 2010 07:50 PM

It helps to say it aloud. Pronunciation is more important than spelling.

Hey, just noticed I'm a rocket now!

If you're not well-read, Google what you think it says

You solved this puzzle in 5 seconds and have never even heard of one of these things!?! Clues just "sounded" like the answer!?!

  26. Panda-flyGarlicpandapal on Oct 26, 2010 09:59 PM

Googled it phonetically & got it, but I was including the lower right corner, too. Really threw me off.... Should have just left it white.

  27. 072Plumemmillee on Oct 26, 2010 10:20 PM

Hey guys- sorry about the corner. This was my first puzzle and I'm still figuring out how to present them prettily. I'm not sure why the default background was black.

  28. SnaitfAppleSnaitf on Oct 26, 2010 11:30 PM

Meh, I've read all the books, seen all the movies, still don't remember this...

  36. Avatar_profileGrapesglouie on Oct 27, 2010 07:05 AM

If I hadn't spent alot of time in the UK, I wouldnt have known what this was either...

  37. Paw600saniKiwiclemtiger007 on Oct 27, 2010 08:22 AM

    Did not remember this term.

[34] - Don't over complicate the picture, and remember the many hints about working it phonetically.

  38. Blane_400x400PlumBlaneMather on Oct 27, 2010 08:39 AM

You solved this puzzle in 7 seconds and Tanga checked the answer for 20 seconds, so you get credited with solving this puzzle in 27 seconds.

Hmph! Browser/internet lag is busting my bubble.

    Definitely a say-it-as-you-see-it phonetic solve.

  39. Avatar_profilePearbeaumistim on Oct 27, 2010 09:30 AM

    again no ideas at all.

  40. FilePumpkinhomerh on Oct 27, 2010 11:41 AM

You solved this puzzle in 5 hours, 55 minutes and 27 seconds and were the 528th . . . Even with all the salt, if I hadn't wiki'ed British _____ I would never had gotten this.

  41. Eg181208Potatotvfamily on Oct 27, 2010 01:28 PM

the 547th Tanga member to solve it! :) Very simple pronounciation and clues. So easy, it can be confusing. Also, I don't remember the explanation in the solution. Where is it? In the book or movie?

  42. 072Plumemmillee on Oct 27, 2010 02:56 PM

[41]- definitely in the book and the item is in the movie.

  43. Ga_alexgrey03RocketSteve.Maldonado on Oct 27, 2010 07:05 PM

I didn't get help, so I finally had to Look at the answer.

I'd like the record to show that "Oak + Cull + Tart" = 'Occult Art' and works for this puzzle as well. That was the answer I had stuck in my head and could never reconcile.

  44. AvatarWatermelonsharkync on Oct 28, 2010 11:34 AM

Should have paid more attention to the sorting hat.
