How is this a sudoku if there are 10 characters? I must be missing something.

  2. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Sep 15, 2010 07:09 PM

    [1] I only saw 9: ABDEHINP2

Ha-ha! That was awesome! I knew I was on the right track before I solved the bottom yellow squares but had to get a bit of them to know where I needed to go. Gotta admit, ryanker, I'm really tired and thought to myself, "oh just forget it tonight - this will be too much work." But then, "why's the center square highlighted in yellow and... 10 yellow squares? Well, maybe I'll just try a little bit..." 7 minutes later, I was 12th! Yippee!

i got something out of the sudoku that makes sense but i can't turn it into a OWW!

  7. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 15, 2010 07:14 PM

[6] Think carefully of what it says. You only want part of the thing that it references.

  8. PlatypusGrapesPlatypus_Venom on Sep 15, 2010 07:16 PM

Oh wow... you made Sudoku... fantastic... :P

  9. FractalTomatodduensing on Sep 15, 2010 08:49 PM

    geez....another suduku....yuck.

luckily there are suduku solvers on the web, or else I'd be stuck with you.

Actually the answer should have the word "THE" in it...that's the official name of them....the leader always used the definite article when referring to them.

    Nice.

  11. FileCarrotmmene on Sep 15, 2010 07:21 PM

I am with [6] - I solved the sudoku but don't know how to get an answer out of the phrase.

  12. Avatar_959_jpg100_200x200RaspberryRocketeer on Sep 15, 2010 07:22 PM

Whoops - I never saw the big highlighted square - bad angle on my screen washed it out :(

  13. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Sep 15, 2010 07:39 PM

I promise, this is my last sudoku-based OWW.

...unless I come up with yet another idea. :-P

Now if I can just think of a way to use a sudoku in a Crypto.

[9] A fair cop -- and one that was pointed out by the moderators. However, given that this is a _one_ word wonder, I figured that the answer would be more-or-less obvious once you got down to two words.

  14. HovisRocketwerowance on Sep 15, 2010 07:23 PM

Nice puzzle, ryanker. I can tell you put your heart and soul into this one.

  15. Nick_dress_blues_2Pancakesbitwisenot on Sep 15, 2010 07:23 PM

Took me awhile, but I got it. Thanks for the puzzle!

  16. BurdgernaBananaburdger on Sep 15, 2010 07:25 PM

I solved the sudoku, but can't figure out what it means...

  17. FileCarrotmmene on Sep 15, 2010 07:26 PM

[12] - I never saw it either but now that I see it it still does not help.

  18. FractalTomatodduensing on Sep 15, 2010 07:26 PM

both [9] and [14] have given subtle hints if you have an ear.

  19. Avatar_profileAppleleroya1 on Sep 15, 2010 07:27 PM

    @[4] testify 1973 FTW!

  20. BurdgernaBananaburdger on Sep 15, 2010 07:28 PM

    nvm, got it :D

  21. AnguseyeaCarrotbamar on Sep 15, 2010 07:28 PM

Another sudoku. I think I'll pass this time and wait for the solution.

  22. Avatar_profileGrapesccnuttall on Sep 15, 2010 07:35 PM

I spent way too much time trying to make sense of the 9 characters in the middle.

    Nice puzzle ryanker

  23. Bp3Eggendel3 on Sep 15, 2010 07:37 PM

[21] just read about it tomorrow...or watch it on TV...

  24. FileCarrotmmene on Sep 15, 2010 07:39 PM

[22] - that was the salt I needed. Clever clueing - nice to see someone get off the beaten path occasionally.

  25. Img_0189Egggst on Sep 15, 2010 07:50 PM

    Very nice.

  26. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Sep 15, 2010 08:20 PM

[2] Yes, I must have miscounted. Now to solve this puzzle.

  27. St._louis_blues_logoPlumAlphaSigChainsaw on Sep 15, 2010 08:20 PM

I got this one from the salt, I didn't feel like printing it out. I wouldn't say I cheated, but sometimes bad is bad.

  28. Avatar_profileLemonKibouhou on Sep 15, 2010 08:36 PM

I think there may be too much salt. I got the solve without even doing the puzzle.

  29. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Sep 15, 2010 08:37 PM

Took me 17 minutes to solve this thing. Was here on time but had to do something else first.

  30. 8grg3zbpu691mpv38q2nRaspberryjebediehard on Sep 15, 2010 08:39 PM

    Fun one. Well done.

  31. Ted_doggRaspberrydmlafrance on Sep 15, 2010 09:04 PM

[13] Nice one - I love sudoku puzzles, and when you add tanga - they just get better.

  32. Avatar_profileStrawberrybzandt on Sep 15, 2010 10:07 PM

ah, i got a different answer for the 2-letter word that threw me off the trail!

  33. Avatar_profileWatermelonbeachbumfarns on Sep 16, 2010 05:24 AM

    [23] was waayy too salty

  34. Eg181208Potatotvfamily on Sep 16, 2010 10:11 AM

For a puzzle that is not too hard to figure out, it sure is hard. What the beans does those letters stand for? Google went all over the place with them! Anybody can give me a TG hint, please! The salt must be salty when you figure out the answer, not before. How you can solve this from the supposed salt only is beyond me. (at this point)

  35. Avatar_profilePeachKinglink on Sep 16, 2010 11:55 AM

There's a very subtle part of the hint that I was missing and took me too long to find. But I got it.

  36. PalinsaurousPeachbillqwe on Sep 16, 2010 01:05 PM

got it just off of [23]

  37. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 16, 2010 01:41 PM

[34] TG me what you have and I'll see what I can do. If you read the letters in yellow plus factor in one additional part, then the letters should give you something very googleable - IF you even need google at that point. If you have the yellow letters but are stumped, then I'm guessing you are still missing that one extra part. You need to do something about that center highlighted section.
