the black rectangle has GOT TO GO!.......there is no word "black" anywhere in this crypto.....just the lion is sufficient, as it has been in many other puzzles here at Tanga.
Nice work. The black rectangle should have just been omitted. The orange symbol is so commonly used, it's easily recognizable.

I needed the black box to let me know of the logo...otherwise I would've been trying to fit an animal into this. Good job comicdaisy! Fun puzzle.
I think the black square is appropriate since it is the actual logo. If you just put the Lion, you would have a ton of people saying "wtf, how does Lion fit into the puzzle?" or "is the color of the Lion important?"
The black rectangle threw me for a second, but then I realized it was just covering up the wanted clue. That method is used all the time so I don't see a problem with it. Actually, I think what made me realize it is that it was natural to follow the first clue with those letters.

That particular Lion has been used to represent that sound time and again here. Maybe the actual word/sound is under that rectangle but it threw me off too.

The black rectangle was not a problem, I figured out what it was there for immediately, but I had to guess (yeah, easy guess) for the last picture... I thought that was a poor clue, it had me crying.
