I've got one, two, five, seven and nine...don't know what to do with them yet...

  2. FileStrawberryPenh on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:12 PM

Arrrghhh... I've got all but one, and still no inspiration on what's next.

  3. Avatar_profileLemonthatmarkguy on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:15 PM

    Yay #1! My first!

I got it from the first six clues. I still can't figure out any of the last three.

  4. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:18 PM

I've got six clues and an idea that isn't quite clicking

  5. 500full-wallace-_-gromit-in-the-wrong-trousers-screenshotAppleDan999 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:23 PM

It took you 22 minutes and 8 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 2nd Tanga member to solve this puzzle.

Never got the love/pool clue, but not needed to solve.

  6. Avatar_profileLemonthatmarkguy on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:24 PM

I've since figured out #7. Still no idea how 8 and 9 are derived. I know what NYC's largest jail is, and I can't make it fit the pattern of this puzzle whatsoever.

  7. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:27 PM

    I can't get 4. I feel like its a big hole i n what I'm trying to do.
Got 4 now. Why can't I do anything with these?

  8. FileStrawberryPenh on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:28 PM

Yeah, 4's the last one I need, though apparently you don't need them all to get it.

  9. Avatar_profileLemonthatmarkguy on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:29 PM

Bah, some google'ing and I understand #9. Some pop culture references just go over my head.

  10. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:31 PM

I'm not sure I understand number nine. I can't get it to fit with the rest. And I don't have 8 right.

  11. Avatar_profilePancakesrandomcyn on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:37 PM

Wow, 4th, more than half an hour in.

It's easier than it looks. I was way overthinking. And you don't need 'em all, I only had 5 of them.

  12. Avatar_profileGrapesetargum on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:38 PM

My first top 3! (and I returned to this after the hypercross and easy one...) I got the first 6 clues, which allowed me to solve it. Still not sure I understand the last three.

    # t took you 26 minutes and 16 seconds to solve this puzzle.
    # You were the 3rd Tanga member to solve this puzzle.

  13. FileStrawberryPenh on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:46 PM

    # It took you 45 minutes and 18 seconds to solve this puzzle.
    # You were the 6th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.

Argh!! Be warned, the big circle is a clue to the answer, not the method.

  14. Avatar_profilePearCoyotek4 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:59 PM

It took you 8 minutes and 19 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 8th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Average solve time: 26 minutes and 44 seconds.
Median solve time: 26 minutes and 16 seconds.

Always with the TNs. Nice one.

  15. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 07:59 PM

It took you 54 minutes and 33 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 7th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.

I was so close for a long time. I needed a nudge from the obvious to make me see there was another option to apply my thinking to. Still top ten after almost an hour!

  16. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:16 PM

Has anyone gotten the eighth one and can give me a clue? I solved without it, but it's bugging me.

  17. AvatarApplebagherra on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:16 PM

I don't get it, what do you use the numbers on?

  18. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:20 PM

Oy. I only had clues 1-6 and went through every possible permutation of the answer word about 10 times because I was sure that was the root, but it took looking in a dictionary to get me to remember the actual word.

  19. Img_0189Egggst on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:25 PM

Is BGG down? Can't get it to load.

I've had all the clues but one for a while, but I'm severely stumped as to how to apply...

  20. FileGarlicHope2002 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:34 PM

    I can get on BGG.

  21. FileDuckiedavey3 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:53 PM

    * It took you 26 minutes and 2 seconds to solve this puzzle.
    * You were the 18th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.

Got some key salt from BGG. I was able to figure out 7 of the 9 clues (assuming my answer to the last one is correct), but it took a little salt to figure out how to apply them.

    Tough puzzle!

  22. FileClockmust67 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 08:57 PM

the answer doesn't fit the picture(much) and I still don't know about the balls. Tough but good puzzle worth more than two!

  23. 2458377427_39b86a6bf0CarrotMilkyway on Sat Jun 16, 2007 09:08 PM

Don't see what the balls have to do with it

  24. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Sat Jun 16, 2007 09:27 PM

    Wow! 31st after 1 hour 52 minutes!

    Time to hit the sack.

  25. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Jun 16, 2007 09:28 PM

    32nd almost 2 1/2 hours after posting...
    Really tough!

  26. FilePotatoDandelion_Wine on Sat Jun 16, 2007 09:30 PM

[25]Glad to see you got it too! Thanks for the help!!

  27. Avatar_profileRadishrmcelroy on Sun Jun 17, 2007 01:14 AM

It took you 45 minutes and 31 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 70th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
70th at over 6 hours in. This one is pretty tough.

  28. Avatar_profileGrapescferejohn on Sun Jun 17, 2007 02:08 AM

    What is BGG?

  29. Tog6Pumpkinprincessproton on Sun Jun 17, 2007 02:24 AM

[28] BGG is boardgamegeek.com. There is a tanga puzzle thread there that tends to have more explicit clues than are posted here. Here is the link:

    http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/131250/page/335

  30. Thunk_logo_colorPotatofachanlahd on Sun Jun 17, 2007 12:58 PM

The first letters of each clue anagrams to "BEGAN FUNK" and I went down that road for a while, only to find it a total dead end.

    sigh...

  31. FileGarlicChupper on Mon Jun 18, 2007 07:36 AM

This was solvable without figuring out every clue, but the eighth clue was way too obscure.

  32. Avatar_profileKiwiNoraANivel on Mon Jun 18, 2007 01:31 PM

[31] I thought that the eighth clue would be difficult, but as a mathematician I couldn't resist. Additionally, I thought it couldn't hurt to possibly introduce people to objects, which, in the words of their Wikipedia entry:

Due to their aesthetic beauty and symmetry, the (objects in question) have been a favorite subject of geometers for thousands of years.
