    #1 on Crypto and #7 here. Must've been those Wheaties I ate!

  2. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Dec 10, 2010 07:06 PM

    Nice job, ryanker. If I could count, I might have shaved a few seconds off my time. :)

  3. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Dec 10, 2010 07:07 PM

    [1] Hey! I'm #7 also!

  4. FileRaspberryMarkel on Dec 10, 2010 07:08 PM

    A bit of work, but very straightforward.

  5. FileBananamatthewy on Dec 10, 2010 07:13 PM

    MAINE! I think that's my best finish ever...

  6. RobberAppleteamgoat on Dec 10, 2010 07:13 PM

    Made it more complicated than it was.

  7. Ysl_beauty_holiday_2008_makeupKiwiashleyohtori on Dec 10, 2010 07:15 PM

    I think I'm overthinking this....any salt please?

  8. Avatar_profilePlumRenegadeTim on Dec 10, 2010 07:16 PM

    I'm making this WAY too complicated I'm afraid. And now I can't start over and try simpler things... so I'm going to be waiting for salt. Man it's crazy how complicated I went with it thinking it was logical, haha.

    None of this is salt, I haven't solved yet. :(

  9. FileCheeseburgerErich on Dec 10, 2010 07:18 PM

    I missed the punctuation at first.

  10. Tanga.avatarEggduckpond_wkb on Dec 10, 2010 07:23 PM

    This may be stating the obvious, but the word "order" is highlighted. Your job is to figure out how to apply that to what's shown.
    </salt>

  11. FileTomatobcgrote on Dec 10, 2010 07:22 PM

    [1], weird, I was first on the Crypto tonite....

  12. AvadoneDuckiebargellos on Dec 10, 2010 07:24 PM

    [10]- I'm OK with you saying that. I got that part. I can't figure out what I'm applying it to.

  13. Avatar_profilePlumRenegadeTim on Dec 10, 2010 07:25 PM

    [10] I've got that that is significant, but can not figure out with my complication just what that means.

    All the orders I have tried mean nothing since I can't figure out the other method.

  14. Ratebeer2Raspberrybeerguy101 on Dec 10, 2010 07:25 PM

    way over thought, numbered this one.

  15. Bp3Eggendel3 on Dec 10, 2010 07:26 PM

    didn't like the 2 character answer....took me a while to get back to the longer longer spelling of the answer

  16. Tanga.avatarEggduckpond_wkb on Dec 10, 2010 07:33 PM

    <salt>
    Only 50 solves so far. Just because you weren't first doesn't mean there are no bonus points to be earned.
    </salt>

  17. Nick_dress_blues_2Pancakesbitwisenot on Dec 10, 2010 07:35 PM

    I started off on the way way wrong track. Finally found my way back. I guess I should have looked more closely at which ones were represented to give me a better clue as to what to do with them.

  18. Eg181208Potatotvfamily on Dec 10, 2010 07:41 PM

    Is it ordered by state or date?

  19. FileClockJewelia on Dec 10, 2010 07:43 PM

    I think I will place an order for these online!

  20. UntitledCarrotBattler on Dec 10, 2010 07:46 PM

    Had the right idea. Had to leave before I finished. Came back 40 minutes later and finished. Still 72nd. Must be my lucky day.

  21. Phi3CornPhilana on Dec 10, 2010 07:48 PM

    This is a very "noisy" puzzle. Almost everything you see in the image is irrelevant.

  22. AvadoneDuckiebargellos on Dec 10, 2010 08:00 PM

    <salt>
    I just figured it out. The order isn't anything you could figure out just from the photo. Even a numismatist likely wouldn't have the information memorized. Google will be your friend. You definitely need to think "outside the photo."
    </salt>

  23. Eg181208Potatotvfamily on Dec 10, 2010 08:12 PM

    I've tried tangaing states order, quarter release order, alphabetical order, displayed order, but still can't get it! Salt!

  24. Avatar_profilePlumpprattsj on Dec 10, 2010 08:17 PM

    I have the whole Quarters collection and I pulled it up. But the key to the puzzle is escaping me.

  25. Tanga.avatarEggduckpond_wkb on Dec 10, 2010 08:23 PM

    <salt>
    I thought my first statement DElivered everything you needed. I guess I was wrong :o(
    </salt>

  26. Avatar_profilePlumRenegadeTim on Dec 10, 2010 08:33 PM

    [23] Exactly what I did, with abbreviations too... Nothing.

  27. FileClockJewelia on Dec 10, 2010 08:34 PM

    [23] It's not the order per se that you need, but the PLACEment within the overall order is crucial, and [22] is correct, Google is your friend there. Aside from that, all you really need to know, you learned in kindergarten!

  28. Cutie_jillianPeppersuzique on Dec 10, 2010 08:40 PM

    [25] That's some FIRST class salt. You're A-1 in my book!

  29. Ted_doggRaspberrydmlafrance on Dec 10, 2010 08:53 PM

    [5] Your salt is what gave me the IOWA(th) finish!

  30. FileEggForNoReasonHeresApu on Dec 10, 2010 09:04 PM

    My first attempt led me to believe that this had something to do with the Thrilla in Manila. It didn't.

    I came back an hour and a half later and still made #92.

  31. Cutie_jillianPeppersuzique on Dec 10, 2010 09:09 PM

    [30] Ha ha. Me too! Got the KO'D MNILIA at first.

  32. Dsc00131GarlicRossmon on Dec 10, 2010 09:21 PM

    really...I come an hour and a half late and get 102???

  33. Avatar_profilePlumpprattsj on Dec 10, 2010 09:26 PM

    [22] [27] if there is information that isn't in picture, then this is obscure. The dates of release are there, the date of admission to the union are there. The state's names (and abbr.) are implied. The placement in the photo are there.

  34. Phi3CornPhilana on Dec 10, 2010 09:50 PM

    [33] There's also the fact that those are quarters, and that in addition to the dates you mentioned, those quarters also include images and text -- but none of that is of any import. All that extraneous information provides another several dozen ways this puzzle could have worked, but what you actually need to know to solve this doesn't even appear in the puzzle!

  35. Avatar_profilePlumRenegadeTim on Dec 10, 2010 10:18 PM

    I've still got nothing and am giving up for the night. I need some serious salt apparently because none of this salt has helped. Either a TG, or I'll get no points tomorrow night.

    Thanks in advance if you TG. :)

  36. FileAppleqwertyca on Dec 10, 2010 10:21 PM

    So far I've tried

    1) The day they were minted on
    2) The state accession year
    3) Ordering by the number of coins minted

    all to no avail. Does this involve state capitals or something?

  37. RedAppleJMarkRob on Dec 10, 2010 10:27 PM

    I've actually got two words but have no clu what they mean. I'm going to check my cipher one last time before I sleep on it, but I really thought I was going the right way on this one.

  38. BjDuckiedrlaura92 on Dec 10, 2010 10:42 PM

    I started this more than 3 hours late, and still made 115.

  39. Animal_slippersPlumDiane1027 on Dec 10, 2010 10:53 PM

    You solved this puzzle in 3 hours, 49 minutes and 16 seconds and were the 116th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.

    WOW... tough one tonight. Surprised to get in at 116th.

    Could not have solved it without help from [25] and [29] - great clues!!! Thanks!!!

  40. FileEggplantJohnS43 on Dec 10, 2010 11:05 PM

    [36] You're on the right track with #2, but remember ORDER!

  41. Avatar_profileStrawberryajolielover on Dec 11, 2010 03:44 AM

    I'm new at this.. and I can't figure one out to for the life of me. I love the crypopixes, but I am clueless when it comes to this. Please help.. what does "salt" mean?

  42. FileStrawberryMrAwesome on Dec 11, 2010 04:14 AM

    salt is a clue, here is some more and I hope it's not too much

    <salt>
    Just leave everything where it is.
    </salt>

  43. FilePumpkinhomerh on Dec 11, 2010 05:44 AM

    10 hours, 42 minutes and 14 seconds and were the 131st Tanga member to solve it. - Wow.

  44. Dsc00625Grapesmilncoln on Dec 11, 2010 06:16 AM

    will someone please give some more salt or tg me, i can't figure this one out for the life of me

  45. 500full-wallace-_-gromit-in-the-wrong-trousers-screenshotAppleDan999 on Dec 11, 2010 06:30 AM

    Wow, that was a tough one, but the penny finally dropped for me with comments [25], [27], [28]. You'll probably need to Google something you may have learned and forgot in grade or middle school.

  46. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Dec 11, 2010 09:33 AM

    [10] and [25] are grade A hints. [36] is REALLY close. Also [5] is quite salty indeed.

  47. Avatar_profileGrapessaranowicki10 on Dec 11, 2010 05:59 PM

    I feel so lost, haven't had that aha moment yet.

    Edit: Figured out my missing step.

  48. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Dec 11, 2010 03:43 PM

    You solved this puzzle in 5 minutes and 41 seconds and were the 160th Tanga member to solve it.

    Pretty easy. Just took some Googling.

  49. FilePumpkinRickj4029 on Dec 11, 2010 08:01 PM

    This was a joke, right?

  50. KittylolxRocketjohanna on Dec 12, 2010 02:41 PM

    Crappy crappy crappy when you absolutely have to use Google to get the answer. It's not a matter of simplicity or not but that the "order" needed (the numbers needed to then Tanga) are not available from looking at information displayed in the puzzle.
