OMG. good day for me. Thank god math is my strong suit
You solved this puzzle in 1 minute and 40 seconds and were the 4th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 107 points for solving this.
I love the maths!
Woo hoo! That last letter threw me...
You solved this puzzle in 2 minutes and 31 seconds and were the 12th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 99 points for solving this.
b^2 - 4ac < 0 ?
Grrrr... Thought it was a crossword type so I went to crypto first. Should've come here, I would've had it in 30 seconds!
Yay! 26th. The best i have done for a while.
Nevermind, I see now.
[4] No, the answer isn't in your imagination.
Nice! Made it at 57th. Would have scored higher if I didn't try printing it out first. Wasn't necessary.
Great puzzle Murdoctor!
yeah...salt....i just see a parabola...?
nm....i hadn't done the rest of the points....
[10] then you should look harder
Cute. Alas, the 6 on the X axis leads one down the primrose path.
I am, nevertheless, pleased to see so many people who understand this task. I've been concerned that excessive use of electronics could make people forget how to think for themselves.
[8] The solution to the puzzle isn't imaginary, but the solution to the equation is...
Yah, it's not 6 letters. that part sucked.
[13] Indeed it is. Makes sense that it should be given the setup of the puzzle...
Doh! 102.. One mistake can really set you back, eh Tanganites?!
That was really frustrating. Jumped to the answer too quick and typed an extra character. Got the "That's not it" answer, deleted the character, LOST MY INTERNET CONNECTION, power-cycled the router, ran outside to borrow my husband's smart phone, got on it (thankfully its cookies remember ME when I access Tanga from his phone), and got 82nd. Under the circumstances, guess I should be glad I got any at all.
Nice puzzle, Murdoctor!
[11] is that salt or is that just rudeness?
[4] I got hung up on the same thing. Looked at the equation and said, oh, obvious quadratic formula, that's easy... wait a minute.... ;)
the 137th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this. Thanks online graphing calculator!
I was told there would be no math....
[17] I think you're a little too obsessed with points!
Very nice one! And for those who "love" math:
There was a young man from Trinity,
Who solved the square root of infinity.
While counting the digits,
He was seized by the fidgets,
Dropped science, and took up divinity.

[4] and [19], you only use the Quadratic Equation to find the values for x where ax^2 + bx + c is equal to 0. The negative determinate just means that no real roots exist for y=0.
I haven't done Algebra since 1986. I need a refresher course.
[4][13] All that means is y can't be 0. And if you solve the puzzle, you'll see that is true, as [15] and [23] point out.
[22] Who me? Surely not... That's easy for the CHILI PEPPER to say anyway. j/k :)
Thank you MTH112!! lol
[25]: Yes, I got the "aha" in [7], after [4] post and solve.
[13] was meant to be a clever response to [8], but I'm not always as clever as I'd like to be.
Oh parabolas!
The extra column threw me off
[12][14][30] That was done on purpose, to obfuscate the answer... along with all of the other extra letters and points.
Ah, got it after realizing the extra column was a red herring.
