If all the answers start with DE, then I think I have 8 out of the 9 highlighted letters. But, the set doesn't look promising. Is there anagramming required?

No one has come to leave any more salt here. But I finally got the answer.
The classic conveyance is in fact very specific. It's a brand name.
Infernal trip = downward move.
And yes, you have to anagram. Which I kept forgetting to do.
