It was with great honor that I accepted Arnott's invitation to create an end-of-year triptych. I hope you enjoy all 3 puzzles. See also:

Yay! 25th! I love this type of challenge, and really liked that there was a second step.

  5. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Dec 28, 2010 07:11 PM

DARN! should have had this a while ago, but missed the obvious 2nd step.

Came to this one after the Hyper. Hmmm, trying a few things, but not sure where to start here. Hoping P & S will help.

24th, though i tried a different next step that gave me an entirely different answer (albeit consistent with the theme)....(whew, had to choose my words carefully there....)

28th on crypto, 47th here, and 12th on hyper. I liked tonight.

eta: Yay! Got it ~ thanks [16]

  11. Cutie_jillianPeppersuzique on Dec 28, 2010 07:30 PM

    Hooray. Loved all three.

Edit: sorry, took away my comment.

  12. HurdansmallGarlicdeg on Dec 28, 2010 07:25 PM

I had no problem ignoring the words in step one but for some reason I got very distracted by the words of step two. Took a while to get past that!

  13. Richard26Oniontekturtle on Dec 28, 2010 07:59 PM

Any salt? I keep thinking I'm on the right track but it only works for a few letters then fails.

Edit: Finally got it with a little help from [19]. Thx!

  14. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Dec 28, 2010 07:33 PM

    [11] Don't tell everyone!

... I say only because I finally got the answer after staring at step 1 for embarrassingly long.

  15. Gap_-_blue_eyesDuckiespeedgitano on Dec 28, 2010 07:29 PM

Got the first part. What is the second step?

  16. HurdansmallGarlicdeg on Dec 28, 2010 07:29 PM

    Looking for sodium?
    Looking for chlorine?
Sometimes one or the other isaltogether hidden from view.

  17. FilePepperdajagr on Dec 28, 2010 07:33 PM

  18. Bp3Eggendel3 on Dec 28, 2010 08:00 PM

[15]..you're a step ahead of me....sounds like the second is like the first, however

[16] hidden from me for sure!!!!

Uggh--would not have solved without help--Thanks!!!!!

Thanks for the cleverly phrased salt [16].

I can never find all the clues on these types of puzzles ... plus line 5 threw me off. Nonetheless, this puzzle was a good one. Thanks jebediehard!

  21. Poirot_smallPotatoelmward on Dec 28, 2010 08:13 PM

    Mystified by step two.

    Also step one.

EDIT: looking at the author's previous work could be useful.

I liked the bottom clue the best - these aren't easy to set up, but you mastered it cleverly. Excellent job!!

  23. FileCarrotmmene on Dec 28, 2010 08:31 PM

Extremely well done. This is the third of the tryptych I am solving and I enjoyed all three immensely.

  24. 000_0017Strawberrybabybert on Dec 28, 2010 08:37 PM

I've found a phrase, but it's not the answer and I don't know what else to do with it.

Duh, gotta love the post and solve. Stupid shampoo. Thanks [28]!

[24] [27] I told my hubby, "I am getting pale, adding when I should not."

But I finally got it. That was tough!

  33. Avatar_profileCherriesjourney2xl on Dec 29, 2010 04:10 PM

First time here.....and I have absolutely no clue what any of this means....can someone help?

  34. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Dec 29, 2010 04:18 PM

[33] I sent you a TG (Tangagram) with some help. Look at the upper-right hand corner of your screen for your Tangagrams. Also, when people say "salt" they are referring to hints. So a "salty" comment is a hint. Good luck!

  35. Avatar_profileStrawberryindianajohn99 on Dec 29, 2010 05:24 PM

    Very fun!

  36. Pb-101214-cross-eyed-9a.photoblog900_cSailboatwidedeki on Dec 29, 2010 06:03 PM

  37. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Dec 29, 2010 06:42 PM

You solved this puzzle in 3 minutes and 25 seconds and were the 200th Tanga member to solve it.

Only had to find numbers 2-5 and got the answer from there! Nice puzzle!

  38. FileDuckiePatanga on Jun 30, 2011 08:20 PM

I got so hung up on the final step.....and it was right in front of me.....groan. Very clever puzzle.
