Tricky. So many trees in this forest.
Got the other two quickly, but nothing coming to me yet here.
[1] Yes, but there is an explicit pointer to which trees to use.
Tried about 50 different things and finally after 10 minutes an had AHA and got 13th...
(The best game was at the citrus bowl stadium today anyway)
Thanks for starting off the new years puzzles jewelia!
[3] I'm still looking for that pointer and haven't found it yet ;(
almost at the random guessing stage.
[6]..been at the random guessing and not getting stage!!!
edit [6] thanks---couldn't find the pointer by myself...
You solved this puzzle in 21 minutes and 5 seconds and were the 37th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 74 points for
[6], [7], I'm with you here.
well i PLACED 38th. only after i tried every which way i could.
I am sooo not a puzzle person. I can't get any of it.
Haven't solved but must exclaim - good job, Horned Frogs.
Next up - Boomer Sooner!
Thanks, [10]! Pretty obvious once you get it, I guess, but it took me forever for it hit me.
You solved this puzzle in 19 minutes and 20 seconds and were the 56th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 55 points for solving this.
any salt on this?
Well, now I got it. I actually started on the right paths by following the last sentence, but didn't get the specifics right.
Great triptych, Jewelia!
Is there any trivia / knowledge / Googling involved, or is the puzzle completely self contained?
Never mind. P&S. I was doing three times the work I had to. Just had to ignore the correct 2/3.
Yea! This, the crypto and the hyper all 60th or below. PLUS I got my rocketship!
[16] Self contained.
Thanks [15]. You finally got me to focus correctly. Granted I went a little farther off first. Still managed 64th.
If this is too salty say so and I'll edit...
To all of you with laptop displays as bad as mine, being able to recognize that there IS a background image is important to getting this directly as opposed to poking around in the dark for a while.
EDIT: Ok, it's T + 1 hour, so I'm not going to worry about too much saltiness.
[16], [17], funny. I ended up Googling for specific information only to get what was already in front of me. Can you believe that I solved it by looking at what I Googled instead of the puzzle?
Mom always said "Haste makes waste". I certainly wasted more time and energy by trying too fast! : )
[19] Too salty or not, I don't know but it did the trick for me.
Finally got it.
For those still struggling through this maze of trees, the puzzle is actually a LOT simpler than it appears. You just need one step, but you have to figure out where to apply that step. The last sentence gives you the clue you need.
[19] That looks like the Rose Bowl, but it isn't helping me.
You solved this puzzle in 19 minutes and 32 seconds and were the 75th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 36 points for solving this.
Woohoo, my first under-100!
This was really hard for me, but solvable, which makes it all the more cool. :)
Wow! Almost an hour late, and still in the top 100 :)
Nice puzzles Jewelia!
HELP...please?!!!
[26] I hear you and raise you one HELP!
wow, I'm still stuck on this, even after reading all the hints
I've been looking at the background but it's helping me in no way.
same here! This will be two in a row that I can't figure out. :-(
Totally stumped. Must be because I didn't watch any football today. And [19] - not too salty because I'm still in the dark here. Thanks, though!
[16] is probably the best salt so far.
Don't worry too much about the background image, it's just reinforcing what the last sentence is clueing.
[28] [30] I'm with you! Hoping for post & solve....
I think [22] has good salt.
[33] Sorry, it's not helping me. I get that the last sentence is the key, but I can't make any sense of it at all.
I haven't the slightest idea! But it's my very first One Word Wonder puzzle, too...
You are given the What, Where, and Who, along with some pretty big instructions...
[36] I see the what, where, and who, of course. Obviously not understanding the instructions at all. I'm begging someone to tg me so I can go to bed....
You solved this puzzle in 3 hours, 3 minutes and 34 seconds and were the 101st Tanga member to solve it.
Took a break, came back, read the comments and immediately got it. [16] did it for me.
5 o.w.w we have tried, only got 1 so far... totally stumped! and here we thought we were freaking geniuses!
well, it's 1:22 a.m. and I am so far behind now it won't matter if it waits until later this morning. [39] BTW, I feel your pain.
Thanks for the help - finally got it. Unhappy with this one.
Well, I posted and didn't solve. Walked away and came back still to be clueless. I've over analyzed that last sentence and am still not seeing the forest through the trees and all the foliage and underbrush. Starting the year off feeling a bit like a ding-a-ling. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and it'll be obvious. Hoping at least.
showed up at the puzzle this morning...stared for an hour....then got it on a complete guess.....112th....
Do the numbers at the top mean anything?
[16] What is "P&S?"
[44] Besides the date? :D
[45] "Post & Solve" is a tanga-ism meaning: As soon as you post a question you seem to figure it out on your own and not need the answer
You solved this puzzle in 14 hours, 12 minutes and 20 seconds and were the 116th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
Let me sift a little through the above salt for those still trying:
1. First line of [16] is a question that is answered by [17].
2. Second line of [16] is elucidated by [10] and [19].
3. If you're still with me, use the innocent clue in [44] and the guidance in mid-[22].
That's how I got it - hopefully it will work for you....
[36] helped me with the big instructions and the last sentence talking about "no matter where (assuming you're going to a stadium) you go". Over 16 hours and I was #119. I guess auld acquantaince should not be brought to mind....
I'm about to give up, and that's making me really mad. Someone just go ahead and TG me with a helthy dose of large rock salt so I can put this one to rest.
perhaps today this site should be Kanga instead of Tanga............
someone tg me some help please
You solved this puzzle in 10 minutes and 18 seconds and were the 132nd Tanga member to solve it.
I had the right idea for a while, just wasn't sure where to apply it.
I'd like to buy a vowel....
You solved this puzzle in 20 hours, 0 minutes and 23 seconds and were the 133rd Tanga member to solve it.
Doesn't seem fair that this should be my first OWW. I feel like I just gave birth...ugh!!!
is the answer to the puzzle, What you shouldn't do?
P&S [50] gave it away
this puzzle is making me feel stupid :(
It's supposedly something simple but I can't figure it out for the life of me and I've kind of lost interest now
I've read all the hints, I still can't get it. Sad panda.
I had to view the solution because I couldn't figure it out. I can't say it was a bad decision because I don't think I would have thought of that word.
Finally able to read the solution after 24 hours. Sorry, pretty disappointed with it. Even after reading the steps to the solution, the process still seems pretty far-fetched. Bummed by this one.
double post.
Just read the solution. Aarrgh! Counting error on my part! Won't make that mistake again.
Help! I'm still lost with no idea of what to do.
WHAT R U KIDDIN
Not intuitive to me at all.....
