    Fun! Thanks, Ryan.

  2. Dsc00131GarlicRossmon on Apr 06, 2011 07:07 PM

    I figured it out...I knew I had it but it wouldn't take...then I saw the last one...oh well...24th in 6.5 minutes

  3. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Apr 06, 2011 07:07 PM

Oo-hoo! I'm so proud of myself on this one.

I saw what I was looking for right away but couldn't figure out what to do with them. Was getting a little annoyed that 21 other people already had it when I thought I had latched on so quickly. Then a careful read and it hit me!

Very, very nicely done Ryan! :)

  4. Nick_dress_blues_2Pancakesbitwisenot on Apr 06, 2011 07:07 PM

I missed one, but was able to get it without once I figured out what to do. I really liked this puzzle, it was very clever. Thanks for making it!

No idea. Will sleep on this one and see it fresh in the morning

Unless someone will TG me salt.

  6. FileCarrotmmene on Apr 06, 2011 07:08 PM

Tough one, I don't see any useful numbers or patterns anywhere.

  7. Gap_-_blue_eyesDuckiespeedgitano on Apr 06, 2011 07:09 PM

#30! Great puzzle! Tried different tactics before finding the right one.

  8. Phi3CornPhilana on Apr 06, 2011 07:10 PM

    Nice puzzle!

  9. FileOnionjaymanmsu on Apr 06, 2011 07:10 PM

Nice! And I only needed the first 4 clues to get it.

  10. Cutie_jillianPeppersuzique on Apr 06, 2011 07:10 PM

[3] Thanks for helping me go back for a "careful read." Needed that little push. Fun puzzle.

  11. Avatar_profile-fpPepperzxo on Apr 06, 2011 07:14 PM

I have a list of 8 items, but can't see what to do with them.

EDIT: Figured it out. Had to follow the directions, as usual :)

  12. Bp3Eggendel3 on Apr 06, 2011 07:14 PM

I'll have to come back too...no can seem to do right now...never mind...p and s....

  13. Julia20Sailboatjila58 on Apr 06, 2011 07:11 PM

[3] me too. I have the pieces, but am lost on the next step

  14. FileXylophoneDavmar on Apr 06, 2011 07:11 PM

    Nice Puzzle :)

  15. Untitled-1PumpkinAdamMcD on Apr 06, 2011 07:12 PM

Hmm... I'm assuming this puzzle uses a certain well-known solve method, but [4]'s comment is confusing me because I know he doesn't like those methods. Must be something else.

  16. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Apr 06, 2011 07:14 PM

There is no "next step." Go back and read the email again. The instructions are right there in plain sight.

  17. FileApplejtfrancom on Apr 06, 2011 07:14 PM

Awesome puzzle! extra tough with so many variations on the answer too... I was thrown for a bit because I missed some but was sure I had it right.

  18. 160Carrotbtmeyers on Apr 06, 2011 07:14 PM

I'm with [11] found 8 clues, but don't know what is next.

  19. FilePumpkinBluefaith on Apr 06, 2011 07:15 PM

[11] I think I'm in the same boat

  20. Avatar_profileGrapesxaqar on Apr 06, 2011 07:15 PM

    Really nice!

  21. Images_1_Sailboathurricanechelsea on Apr 06, 2011 07:15 PM

I think I have the first step, but now I'm stuck. Help? TGs welcomed ;)

  22. FileAcejester747 on Apr 06, 2011 07:16 PM

Woohooo! Got my plum thanks to finishing 22nd here! Gotta thank my wife though.
I wonder if other successful guys had a woman behind them as well!

  23. Avatar_profilePlumwjt9014 on Apr 06, 2011 07:16 PM

A month ago, I would have never gotten this, even with help from [3]

  24. Eg181208Potatotvfamily on Apr 06, 2011 07:16 PM

    Lost, nothing found yet....

  25. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Apr 06, 2011 07:17 PM

[22] We women usually come along after the men to clean up the mess they've made. ;-)

  26. Avatar_profileStrawberrynihilistronin on Apr 06, 2011 07:17 PM

8th on the Crypto, but not a clue here...

  27. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Apr 06, 2011 07:18 PM

    There's salt in comments #16 and #25.

  28. Donimo_pirate_beatlesTomatoDonimo on Apr 06, 2011 07:18 PM

    Loved it!

  29. Images_1_Sailboathurricanechelsea on Apr 06, 2011 07:22 PM

the salt is only confusing me more.

  30. FilePumpkinkenpez on Apr 06, 2011 07:23 PM

Great puzzle! Had me sitting here for a good 15 minutes scratching my head, but I still got 85th.

[18] [19] Look at where your clues are in the email and then look at what's next.

  31. 160Carrotbtmeyers on Apr 06, 2011 07:23 PM

You solved this puzzle in 20 minutes and 6 seconds and were the 90th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 21 points for solving this.

Had the clues after 5 minutes, but when i read [25] it reminded me of the first sentence in the email.

  32. Untitled-1PumpkinAdamMcD on Apr 06, 2011 07:24 PM

Snuck in at 96. At first I was looking for the exact opposite (in a sense) of what I should have been looking for (which gave me a really suspect list of words). Never would have got it without [25]; also, [16] was very misleading to me.

  33. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Apr 06, 2011 07:24 PM

100th solver at 22 minutes past the hour... 8 minutes sooner than I expected.

  34. FilePotatoDevin8r on Apr 06, 2011 07:28 PM

    Well, it's not "farjrbc".

[EDIT] Post and solve works every time! Good puzzle--way to make us read it carefully!

  35. Brownie_sundaeGarlicbrownie1 on Apr 06, 2011 07:25 PM

    More salt?

  36. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Apr 06, 2011 07:25 PM

[30] Well I could have put one word in my comment [25] in all caps, but I thought that would be too blatant. Go back and re-read the beginning of the email and see what's similar to the salt.....

  37. FileCarrotmmene on Apr 06, 2011 07:25 PM

Finally got it. That was original, never seen that solve method before. Straightforward after I figure it out with all the salt.

  38. FileCarrotmmene on Apr 06, 2011 07:27 PM

[34] looks like you have started out with the right idea, try to understand the instructions again.

  39. Eg181208Potatotvfamily on Apr 06, 2011 07:27 PM

You solved this puzzle in 25 minutes and 57 seconds and were the 113rd Tanga member to solve it. Didn't see the instructions at first..sheeeeesh....

  40. 8grg3zbpu691mpv38q2nRaspberryjebediehard on Apr 06, 2011 07:29 PM

I really enjoyed this one. Good job, ryanker.

  41. Images_1_Sailboathurricanechelsea on Apr 06, 2011 07:31 PM

second request for a TG, please oh please!

  42. FilePumpkinkenpez on Apr 06, 2011 07:32 PM

[34] You mean that it's not "farjwrbc"

  43. Toco_toucanGrapesnealeyj on Apr 06, 2011 07:33 PM

You solved this puzzle in 27 minutes and 5 seconds and were the 121st Tanga member to solve it.

Wow. Those instructions WERE hidden in plain sight! Good puzzle. I just need to be more aware I guess. Once i found the instructions, it was a piece of cake!

  44. Images_1_Sailboathurricanechelsea on Apr 06, 2011 07:43 PM

I got several great TGs, thank you! And finally figured it out.

  45. Brownie_sundaeGarlicbrownie1 on Apr 06, 2011 07:45 PM

This OWW didn't help me get points so I can get my radish. Good puzzle!

  46. FilePotatojunderscore on Apr 06, 2011 07:54 PM

Very fun puzzle. I can feel myself getting better at these. Thanks!

  47. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Oct 02, 2011 08:50 PM

Thank you for the kind words. As I mentioned in a TG or two, "frustrating but clever" was exactly what I was aiming for.

[37] Original? Well let's say I was "inspired" by one Lexi Smith. ;-)

    (How's that for obscure salt?)

  48. Dsc00099BananaAmandaToller on Apr 06, 2011 08:04 PM

Can someone please TG me on this one I am pretty sure I know what to do but I just can't find anything that fits or makes sense

  49. Brownie_sundaeGarlicbrownie1 on Apr 06, 2011 08:14 PM

    [48] Sent you one.

  50. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Apr 06, 2011 08:15 PM

[47] Hah! I was thinking about that when I read comment [37]... and having that in the back of my brain somewhere helped me notice your instructions. I should probably be embarrassed that it took me as long as it did.

Here's what ryanker is referring to, for anyone that's interested:

    http://www.tanga.com/puzzles/7388-12-22-2010

[32] I thought [16] was potentially misleading as well. I know what she's getting at - it can be done in one step. But I think many of us are going to list the items we find in the puzzle and then try to figure out what to do with them.

[48] I will - and wideki too if you still need it. edit: brownie1 already got you, so I'll just tag wideki.

  51. Stfu_fortune_cookie-12260Bananainsta1234 on Apr 06, 2011 08:44 PM

[30] Thank you. Would have never solved it, because I kept reading the "instructions" as a question.

  52. Img_0886Appletinmanchris on Apr 06, 2011 10:18 PM

Thanks Soccer_Ref! After reading [36] , it came together.

  53. FileRocketlaurelg1 on Apr 07, 2011 05:29 AM

[47] and [50] - thanks, that did it for me. After being "taught" the "how to" I think I actually have a starting point! (no salt there, just a statement).

  54. FileTomatoMurdoctor on Apr 07, 2011 05:22 AM

    Very nice! Cleverly obfuscated.

  55. UntitledPotatoBenditlikebaker on Apr 07, 2011 05:49 AM

I'm so close.. I just need a littttle salt please :)

  56. KittylolxRocketjohanna on Apr 07, 2011 07:08 AM

Was making it way too hard plus I had missed one until somebody said eight clues. No Tangaing required.

  57. JelloStrawberryflame782 on Apr 07, 2011 09:03 AM

You solved this puzzle in 28 minutes and 21 seconds and were the 269th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points

    nice puzzle!

    HEY! I'm a freaking genius!!
You solved this puzzle in 20 minutes and 55 seconds and were the 282nd Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points

This is my first time here and was completely lost but thanks to a couple of the comments (especially [50])was able to figure it out.

  60. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Apr 07, 2011 10:35 AM

[55] Not knowing what part you are close on, it's hard to know what little bit of salt you need. You can send me what you've got if you'd like and I'll lightly salt you from there.

  61. NessaPeachalabamasax on Apr 07, 2011 04:03 PM

huh? I am not getting this one. Can I get a little help please?

  62. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Apr 07, 2011 05:37 PM

    [61] What [60] said.

  63. Bradandiinhawaii-2Peachbrilliantlyred on Apr 07, 2011 07:19 PM

This was my first puzzle ever. I had to read the FAQ's to find out what "salt" was LOL (see...total newbie!). Then, after reading (and checking out!) [47] I sort of had an idea of what to look for. Had to check out the hint on this puzzle first tho... But finally got it. Really fun for my first puzzle... Thanks!

  64. Avatar_profileStrawberrysheilarenewaldayspa on Apr 07, 2011 07:32 PM

You solved this puzzle in 48 minutes and 16 seconds and were the 329th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 3 points for solving this. LOVE THIS WEBSITE!!!!!! The harder they are, the sweeter the victory! (30) supplied what I needed. Thanks.

  65. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Apr 07, 2011 08:13 PM

    [63] Welcome to the club!
