Well, the guy does have something to do with - I think he's there to help you identify the important object. I tripped up trying to identify the woman and lost some time but I think that's part of the fun. If people weren't in such a hurry to solve this thing in 10 seconds, maybe people could enjoy the simple beauty of a puzzle like this. Figuring out which part to ignore and what to use was part of the puzzle. I liked it! (Liked the solution write-up too)
