Not everyone knows dog breeds. And for those who don't, they are a major pain to look up.
Cute one. And I thought the movie was clever.

This really stinks so far tonight. Trying to find what kind of dog it is.

Got it... had to google Ving though.. lol.
[7] I tried to get that to help me but it didn't. I had to google Ving and then I googled what I had with strategic quotation mark usage and got it. Surprised at my 38th place finish at almost 2 minutes! Once I saw the answer, I felt really silly about not getting the dog breed. It's a very common breed!
I really enjoyed the puzzle despite the parts I had trouble getting. Fun movie too.

I groaned when I saw the dog. I don't know dogs, I don't care about dogs. But a google search of the rest of the puzzle produces the answer. I'll prolly forget what kind of dog that is by tomorrow...
gotta say, that the second half of the math clue should make the dog breed easy to figure out... easy and reasonable rebus.
[7] Yes, it was that math that probably was the only reason I was able to get the correct breed. I think I would have been completely lost on those parts without at least that much. I thought the rest of the puzzle worked fairly well, and I did enjoy the source of the answer.
[17] I wouldn't go that far. If you know nothing about any dog breeds it isn't easy. You have to try to google 'dog' and 'breed' and try to come up with the right way to spell the ending, which could be one of several different ways.
There is no " key" to subtract from ugly little rat.
I did not figure out the dog until figuring out the answer to the puzzle through some creative googling. I like the cluing for the most part, but the dog can provide a little too much of an obstacle to 'truly' solving it, if you don't know dogs.
Actually upon thinking about it, about half the puzzle was pretty easy, so I guess it balances out.
