The clueing prior to adding the "s" tripped me up as well. Once that didn't take, I was trying to fit a "P" in there somewhere until I resorted to google. Not familiar with this, but was able to sneak in at 92nd.

Think puzzles should challenge us and sometimes introduce things we never knew. As I have said many times - read what's in front of the publish date of the puzzle:

[17] I think adding the +S makes sense for people who don't know the reference.
I didn't like this puzzle at all....I entered the correct words without the plural by using the phonetic clues.....now I see that an S has been added to the puzzle to make it more solveable, which is good. Just a difficult solve if you have never heard of the show.

took a while for me to put the gas gauge and the follow up behind it together.. but then again, this was something I HATED, so I never viewed it.

I got it and loved it. Don't let the others ruin it. I don't know alot of references sometimes but I don't complain
hehe... I was trying to figure this one out and nothing was working and then it finally hit me. It was a very cool aha for me. I had the S because I knew it needed one and... you CAN interpret that last pic as having one.
The second image gave me a bit of trouble because the needle isn't pointing at the E. Rather, that image shows what my car's gas gauge looks like when the engine is off and the gauge isn't measuring anything.
I liked this puzzle!

Man, that last picture looks like what happens to me when I forget to stick something in and have to open the end of an already sealed package, stick in that last little piece of paper, and seal it back up again. I hate when that happens.

I'm more from the "fish heads" era, which is about ten years too soon for this. I'm apparently too old to have heard of this; either that, or I just didn't care.
I recall the "money for nothing, chicks for free" stuff. But that first and last word I just filled in and assumed it meant something. Thanks for the "S", i can see it being painful without it.
