    Oh, I wish people would!

  2. FileOnionquantamm on Sep 13, 2011 07:10 PM

    [1] I second that!

  3. Chivas-regal-12-200bPotatoPimperio on Sep 13, 2011 07:10 PM

wow, that was a challenging one! nicely clued.

  4. FilePlumTracer on Sep 13, 2011 07:11 PM

You are a freaking genius!! You solved this puzzle.

You solved this puzzle in 9 minutes and 58 seconds and were the 70th Tanga member to solve it.

  5. FileEggplanthankescu on Sep 13, 2011 07:11 PM

So it's not about a mountain city?

  6. FileBanana19brian67 on Sep 13, 2011 07:13 PM

    84th - whew. I didn't think I was going to get it.

  7. DadRaspberryjayvil on Sep 13, 2011 07:14 PM

I agree with the sentiment, but the clues seemed like a weird stretch for me.

  8. FractalTomatodduensing on Sep 13, 2011 07:14 PM

not clicking on this one at all

  9. Nick_dress_blues_2Pancakesbitwisenot on Sep 13, 2011 07:14 PM

This took me more than a minute - and I'm shocked I still got 2nd. Also, without looking at the "by-line" I knew who the maker was by the first clue. Nice one!

  10. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sep 13, 2011 07:14 PM

Not a fan of this one. The clueing can lead you to many different finishes.

  11. FileAcejester747 on Sep 13, 2011 07:21 PM

Terribly clued, before I got it. Very, very well clued after. :-)
Fun to have a challenging crypto! Good job!!
One of my best days ever... 5th, 6th and 14th!!! Woohoooo!

  12. FileCheeseburgerErich on Sep 13, 2011 07:17 PM

Ouch. 101. Would have done better if I had placed more emphasis on the last syllable instead of trying to combine the last two clues into one word.

  13. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sep 13, 2011 07:17 PM

This must have been a regionally run campaign. Never heard of it.

  14. Brownie_sundaeGarlicbrownie1 on Sep 13, 2011 07:20 PM

I don't even know what this is..................

  15. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 13, 2011 07:20 PM

    [13] I don't think it was a campaign. Just a regular, run-of-the-mill bumper sticker.
    [3][9] and um, [11] - I think :) - Thanks!

  16. Avatar_profileStrawberrymdeakin on Sep 13, 2011 07:21 PM

first part is easy, I'm not getting the second part. And does the back of the car have anything to do with it?

  17. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Sep 13, 2011 07:24 PM

[16] yes, it is a hint

  18. FileCheeseburgerQurqirishDragon on Sep 13, 2011 07:25 PM

    [16] only indirectly.

  19. Avatar_profileStrawberrymdeakin on Sep 13, 2011 07:27 PM

grrrr, okay, it's a bumper sticker, but I'm still not getting that last part. Any salt please?

  20. BobnmaiaPotatoVermont_Bob on Sep 13, 2011 07:28 PM

    i'm stumped on the finish

  21. 6-9-06Xylophonehouck on Sep 13, 2011 07:30 PM

[19][20] there is no plus sign between the last two clues

  22. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Sep 13, 2011 07:31 PM

[15] I googled it and it said it was a campaign in Texas (and maybe Oklahoma too).

  23. FileKiwiconniebgood on Sep 13, 2011 07:31 PM

    Fun Sonjahl!
Never heard of it - but I quite agree!!! **Remind myself to go to the bumber-sticker store. ***After I research where I might find a bumper-sticker store. . .

  24. BobnmaiaPotatoVermont_Bob on Sep 13, 2011 07:31 PM

although i just got it - seems kind of obvious now

  25. Avatar_profileStrawberrymdeakin on Sep 13, 2011 07:32 PM

[21] THANKS! That did it for me. :)

  26. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 13, 2011 07:32 PM

[22] Ah! Well, I guess it is regional then. :)

I just thought it was a funny bumper sticker that made a good point and allowed for some (obviously, judging by the solve rate) tricky cross-word cluing.

  27. FileGarlicclassicalguy on Sep 13, 2011 07:33 PM

the distinction between the skinny line and the bold line was kind of tricky. AGT had technical difficulties.
Blast! Oh well, one must choose which addiction to pursue...

  28. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Sep 13, 2011 07:37 PM

I swear I tried that 10 minutes ago!

  29. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Sep 13, 2011 07:38 PM

Ah, I failed to make a word plural.

  30. FileDuckiePatanga on Sep 13, 2011 07:53 PM

Had a lot of trouble with this one....and I live in Texas.

  31. FileClockJewelia on Sep 13, 2011 07:56 PM

[15] [26] Never heard of it, but was able to get it nonetheless, even though I assumed it was a Dad's warning to his kids when he made a quick stop for gas on a long road trip!

  32. ErwinPepperTangaAl on Sep 13, 2011 08:17 PM

Nice one, sonjahi! So that was number 2, huh?

I thought it was well-clued. Came back to this after getting the OWW, and got my aha after saying it aloud a few times. Fun!

  33. FileGrapeslilmisslady on Sep 14, 2011 07:47 AM

Edit. sorry folks ... I got it with the help of google.

  34. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 13, 2011 08:20 PM

[32] Yeah, Arnott's comment when he scheduled this was: LOL, pretty slow "race" I'm bettin'

:) How many months ago was that?

  35. Avatar_profileGrapesncvike on Sep 13, 2011 10:23 PM

Thanks [12] even though I was thinking that I didn't get it till I read your post.

  36. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Sep 14, 2011 01:36 AM

[33] I'm going to flag your comment, but you have a part wrong. It's not "bold". One line is thin, the other line is...

  37. Avatar_profilePeachkronewi on Sep 14, 2011 03:43 AM

I finished it but the clues for the second line still don't make any sense to me.

  38. MarkerryanCarrotryanker on Sep 14, 2011 04:39 AM

Darn short attention span! "7 hours, 57 minutes and 24 seconds" I brought this up and got then noticed I had a tangagram. By the time I answered that and did the OWW, it was time to go to bed. Finally remembered to come to this the next morning.

You planned that tangagram distraction all along, didn't you sonjahi? :-)

  39. FilePlumjebloom22 on Sep 14, 2011 06:28 AM

You solved this puzzle in 4 minutes and 38 seconds and were the 308th Tanga member to solve it.

  40. UntitledPotatoBenditlikebaker on Sep 14, 2011 07:00 AM

[12] is a good clue. I didn't get it at first but their clue actually is helpful. Whatever you had as the last word, try splitting it into 2 words

  41. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 14, 2011 07:29 AM

[38] Yep! That's why I sent it to you first thing Tuesday morning - so it'd be sure to trip you up during solve time! :)

  42. Strat_150x150Rocketjcqueen on Sep 14, 2011 08:32 AM

Great puzzle. It stumped me at first, but the cluing was perfect, once I sounded it out.

  43. FileStrawberryeviscia on Sep 14, 2011 08:35 AM

GGAAAAAHHHHH!! I don't want to do these anymore, but when I solve them, it's so worth it lol. Even if: "You solved this puzzle in 11 hours, 40 minutes and 32 seconds and were the 341st Tanga member to solve it." Those last two clues are what got me.

  44. ErwinPepperTangaAl on Sep 14, 2011 10:42 AM

I wonder why the SPAM catcher didn't get [45]?

  45. Avatar_profilePeareboutwell84 on Sep 14, 2011 11:02 AM

Help!! I'm completely clueless to this one!

  46. 100_1703Eggsonjahi on Sep 14, 2011 12:26 PM

[46] Too busy catching us, I guess. You'd think TangaJoe could hardcode that web address into the spam filter and be done with it.

[47] Feel free to send me a Tangagram with what you have and I'll help out.

  47. Avatar_profileWatermelonstrikerliker on Sep 14, 2011 01:06 PM

I had the first two words and then googled it, also. I don't think I ever would have gotten it otherwise. #389
