Don't write out the numbers *grumble*
I especially liked the last line of clues, thanks for making it sonja!
Damn....3 minutes and was only 131st. I thought for sure I would have been top 100!
Spelling!
Any salt on this one? We're past 100 solves.
[5] So far so good!!
[1] You know, I wondered how many people might try that... but if you look up the lyrics, they usually don't spell it out. I figured if you *knew* it and spelled them out, the very next thing you'd try would be the numbers.
[5] I can't complain but sometimes I still do.
I'm with [1]. Between *Spelling* on one word and multiple tries for words versus numbers, I WAY missed any extra points.
And [7], now you know: at least 2.
Probably would have gotten this without salt if I'd ever heard the song before!
Sonjahi and TangaAl have a little something going on in secret!
[9] Oh, wow, you are missing out in life if you've never heard that song! What a classic!
[10] Yeah, a few weeks ago, TangaAl sorta (jokingly) challenged me to a puzzle submission race. Puzzle ideas starting flowing and I was telling him how many I was churning out and he wanted to know which ones when they ran but I knew I'd forget so I marked them in the Notes. :)
[7] True, though I first double-checked spelling and such once I got the 'wrong answer' message so I lost a lot of time there... and when it's a tight race on the Cryptos, doing the wrong one first really hurts.
(It's a very nice puzzle - not sure how you could've indicated which you wanted without giving it away.)
I'm surprised at the star ratings on this puzzle. One fun, four difficulty? maybe the hydrocodone is making a a great solver having lots of fun tonight, compared to average!
[13] Heh, so much for including this puzzle in renfurdson's request for 2-star puzzles. :)
Spelling got me, but this tickled me to death. :) Awesome reference, puzzlemaker!!
[14] At least you know that the powers-that-be loved this puzzle -- they obviously put it on the fast track to publishing.
The best puzzle by far, just cuz the song is so darn great! Thanks Sonjahi! You rock, classically!
[16] The other two puzzles tonight were submitted last year. Arnott wanted to make it a triptych but I didn't have any already-nominated-cryptos so we looked through my submitted queue.
Got the phrase immediately. However the spelling of the brand name and the number slowed me up. Oh well, fun anyhow.

Can someone check my spelling?

The "D/T" issue drives my British friend nuts. The Brits pronounce the T's as T's. So sometimes she doesn't know what I'm talking about when I use a D sound for a T word.
got it in 43 seconds but showed up way too late for top 100 haha
Love it.

Here is how the puzzle creator explains how to solve this puzzle:
Easy puzzle, I'm just too poor to know how to spell it.
FUN ONE!!
Took an extra 30 secs to solve because I had to google the spelling of one of the words.
[23] Many Americans also correctly pronounce Ts as Ts. I don't personally know anybody who pronouces the last word in this puzzle the way it's clued. For that matter, I don't know anyone who says "duh" for "the" either!

So does mine ;)
[30] Joe Walsh pronounces it as clued. :) As I said in the solution, that's why I chose to clue it that way. (Although my husband noted that while we heard it as 'D' when we carefully listened to the song, people who always pronounce it with a 'T' would probably hear it as a T, which is an interesting effect to consider... that what we hear is colored by how we would say something).
I have heard people say "duh" for "the", but they are usually deliberately trying to sound dumb so I don't think that counts. :)
I just saw one of these yesterday. I wanted to ask the guy if it went this fast.

Thanks [1]. And [7] -- make that 3. But great puzzle! I was pretty sure I knew it after the first 2 hints.
