Is that a picture of a dog going to the bathroom in the background?!?!?
# It took you 6 minutes and 14 seconds to solve this puzzle.
# You were the 2nd Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Woo! And yes, that's what it is.
First at 5:35. Lightning struck at about 5 minutes, and the rest was cake. (No, those aren't clues.)
Tada sent me this one to try out a couple of months ago. I still have no clue. The first one didn't even have a background.
It took you 12 minutes and 45 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 3rd Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
I took a bit of a wrong turn trying to use both anagrams.
It took you 17 minutes and 40 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 6th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Average solve time: 10 minutes and 12 seconds.
Median solve time: 12 minutes and 45 seconds.
I started it, then quit. Shouldn't've been so quick to give up. Oh well.
You have to strain to see the background.
(joke, no salt)
good to see tim allen is doing other things than "the santa clause 4."
[8] Christmas 2008
It took you 21 minutes and 35 seconds to solve this puzzle.
You were the 30th Tanga member to solve this puzzle.
Average solve time: 22 minutes and 16 seconds.
Median solve time: 21 minutes and 35 seconds.
I am not posting this because of any ego issues. Rather, my solve time EQUALS the median. Cool.
Also: the author seems to have a fondness for antony.
[10] It just happened to work for 2 of my puzzles.
[11] No problem. I just was noticing. :)
[8] - guess that's not tim allen after all!
Can't say I cared much for this one, kind of a crappy puzzle.
Are they getting desperate for puzzles?
And, I don't think truncate means what you think it means.
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
truncate
VERB: 1. To shorten by or as if by cutting off.
SYNONYMS: shorten, abbreviate, abridge, curtail
.
[16] Well, hopefully I just did it wrong and happened to get the right answer.
I had to remove letters from the front and back and truncation (especially in math) implies just from the end.
Cowbell => Cow
Given the ambiguities of these clues, I was trying to work in both directions, and _____MAN was throwing me off.
EDIT: As for my other comment, I'm not a fan of a puzzle that uses the word "poop".
I just did the puzzle but got no points. I think if it's going to stay up for two days, I should be able to get the points regardless of when I solve it! I was in the middle of solving the hypercross yesterday when the site exploded and so I didn't get any points for that either when I submitted my answers.
Just to let you know, I'm a linguistics major. I wasn't able to answer this, and the solution, although clever in the maker's mind, does not follow proper rules.
grrrrrrrrr
