D'oh! Those aren't beers....
Ditto!
[1] Ha! that's what I kept on thinking too. Guess I just have booze for brains.
Me too on the pints of beer....
I got stuck thinking those were beers
[1] That's what I thought it was on the thumbnail but then I realized (still from the thumbnail) that they were WAY too big for beers. Or that is a very small man. :)
This was excellently clued! Thanks, Philana.
You solved this puzzle in 9 seconds and were the 184th Tanga member to solve it. You earned 10 points for solving this.
Lost a few seconds cause I first thought of the last clue as "your" not "my". As in when soliciting the promise from someone. :-)
Nice puzzle Philana! Thank you!
Thanks [8]. That did it. Was driving me crazy ;-)
Never saw a beatnik playin beer before.....
I can't believe I got that. And seriously, y'all, BEER?
Being the daughter of a drummer and I thought they were something else. (After I got over the beer thing) Which technically they are the other thing, but they are often mistaken for the B word. (Which still looks like beer)
I identified the words almost immediately...but it took a few minutes for me to figure out how to interpret them into something that made sense. Must be past my bedtime.
[11] lol - It's obviously not beer (to me) when you are looking at the full image. But when looking at the thumbnail while in a big hurry to absorb all the clues in the first few seconds of solving, yeah, it kind of looks like beer.
You solved this puzzle in 2 seconds and were the 408th Tanga member to solve it.
[12] Right. The drums shown are Conga drums but that's not the word needed for the puzzle. The word needed is a different drum.
Never heard of the answer. So I learned something new.
Haha, yes, I also thought those were beers. Doesn't a tall frozen draft with just enough head on top sound good right now? It's 5'pm somewhere right? mmm.
It's sad how many people obviously solve the puzzle from it's preview, type out the answer, and then sign in and paste the answer in real quick (you know who you are, I don't need to tag your comment # (but you don't deserve your "natural" rank!)) This is supposed to be just a fun game and there are still a bunch a cheaters...pretty pathetic.
[18] I think you misunderstand the nature of the ranking here. You are right that that appears to be what [15] in particular did, but it's not cheating. They finished 408th for goodness sake! Ranking on Tanga is based on when you solve it, not how long it takes you. I solved this puzzle (already logged in) in 19 seconds for an 8th place finish (complete with 93 bonus points). If I had done what you describe, I might have solved it in 2 seconds but I would not have been in the top 100 (thus no bonus points) because it takes much, much longer to type, copy, login, load, paste, submit than it does to type and submit in an already logged-in session.
Puzzles post at 7pm Pacific time. Most of the regular solvers are already logged in at that time and try to be the first solvers. The bonus points were gone and there were 100 solvers at 7:02:27 last night. Someone doing what you are suggesting wouldn't have made it, so most people don't do it. As a matter of fact, 3 of the people who beat me actually took longer than me to solve it. But since they managed to access the puzzle before me, they beat me, even though my solve time was faster.
So while I will agree with you that it seems a silly and pointless thing to do, it's not cheating. They gain nothing by doing it. Most of us don't pay any attention to the comments that are just cut&pastes of solve times anyway.
[19] I thank you for clarifying this and stand corrected (somewhat). While I did misunderstand the nature of the ranking system, I'm not so sure I misunderstood the intentions of [15]'s actions. While you have demonstrated that there is no benefit to solving prior to login and then simply pasting a pre-typed answer immediately after logging in, then why do it? As you said, "...it seems a silly and pointless thing to do, [but] it's not cheating" I still have to suspect that despite the fact it does no good, it was (perhaps) still an attempt by someone who also did not realize doing this gives one no advantage. If this was not the case, I apologize to [15] for the insinuation.
You solved this puzzle in 23 hours, 3 minutes and 58 seconds and were the 591st Tanga member to solve it. Woot!
