Nice one. I stared dumbly at the results of step 1 for a minute before I figured out what I was supposed to do for step 2...

  2. ErwinPepperTangaAl on Jan 05, 2012 07:09 PM

    Very, very nice, dennis!

  3. FileTomatobcgrote on Jan 05, 2012 07:09 PM

    Plain enough!

  4. Tanga_profile_photoEggWhiteKnight85 on Jan 05, 2012 07:10 PM

Very neat puzzle. And good for Jeb!

  5. FileEgggwk1967 on Jan 05, 2012 07:10 PM

    [3] I'm STILL staring dumbly.

  6. Christopher_david_ryan_-_eyeGarlickc6201 on Jan 05, 2012 07:11 PM

I think it helps to ignore the last 3 words. The wording is probably only weird because it had to be to fit.

  7. Bp3Eggendel3 on Jan 05, 2012 07:12 PM

Lotsa work but worth it, nice puzzle though it took me too long....

  8. FilePumpkinhomerh on Jan 05, 2012 07:13 PM

    Nice

  9. Gap_-_blue_eyesDuckiespeedgitano on Jan 05, 2012 07:14 PM

    Got the message; don't understand.

  11. RocklipsCarrotnotyouravggirl on Jan 05, 2012 07:20 PM

    [12] ditto

  12. FileCarrotbobmcd67 on Jan 05, 2012 07:21 PM

It would have helped if I had noticed the starter hint sooner :-(

  13. Art_land_of_free_eagleEggplantJWillOH on Jan 05, 2012 07:21 PM

    Any salt for step 2?

  14. Cutie_jillianPeppersuzique on Jan 05, 2012 07:21 PM

    Ahhhh, nice one!

  15. Garage-grrls-chainsaw-sally-7Eggplantgertrudethemutilator on Jan 05, 2012 07:21 PM

I stared at that way longer than a minute before it dawned on me. I need to start a support group of people with mental blocks when it comes to OWWs.

  16. FileDuckieroboroo on Jan 05, 2012 07:32 PM

Sign me up for that group. I couldn't tell you how many times I get stuck...including tonight. Still don't have it.

EDIT: OK...so I FINALLY figured it out...but I still need to be a part of the group.

  17. FileRocketInsaif on Jan 05, 2012 07:24 PM

Dang, missed top 100 by 2 places because I got off alignment a couple of times. Still a great puzzle.

OK can anyone help with step 2 I got the message just not sure what to do with it

Gotta go to bed PLEASE TG me salt on step 2

  19. Nick_dress_blues_2Pancakesbitwisenot on Jan 05, 2012 07:27 PM

I felt that there a certain word could have been included in the first step results to make things clearer, and like [8] it seems to me that not every word that was there was useful, and not every word was key for figuring out the second step, but I see that every word, and indeed every character, was in fact necessary to resolve completely the second step.

  20. FileKiwiGRIMESFAMILY on Jan 05, 2012 08:18 PM

Can't figure out what to do in step 2 and I know it must be obvious...

DUH...I made a critical mistake in part one or step 2 WOULD have been obvious. [Kicking myself]

    Thanks for the salt, JWillOH.

  21. FilePotatoGinnyjulie on Jan 05, 2012 07:40 PM

Got on a hoodie for when people start sprinkling the salt. Got the first part.

  22. Avatar_profilePepperbiggerl on Jan 05, 2012 08:48 PM

[23] forget the hoodie. I got margarita glasses.

  23. FileSailboatdagibbs on Jan 05, 2012 08:56 PM

I thought it was obvious how to decode without the bonus T and O to get things started. Pretty easy as these things go.

  24. FilePlumdramafan on Jan 05, 2012 09:24 PM

Yes! Two OWWs in a row that I've been able to do. Was stuck regarding step 2 for a little bit; then the light came on when I realized that you just do exactly what it says.

  25. Avatar_profileLemonteacup9 on Jan 05, 2012 09:46 PM

Yeah still staring at step two after reading all the comments.

  26. FileGarlicdharmaRN on Jan 05, 2012 10:45 PM

    It's not potato...

  27. Tanga_shadow_goat_2-fpAceshiella on Jan 05, 2012 11:11 PM

[23] time for tit for tat-- total blank here
    maybe later this morning

  28. Mangos-big-750570Sailboatkgnanamu on Jan 06, 2012 08:56 AM

Not seeing 2nd step. Salt/TG please.

Edit: Got it. One more word in the 1st step sentence would have made things clearer for 2nd step.

  29. FileKiwiPoisonIvy213 on Jan 06, 2012 05:24 AM

Sign me up for that support group, too!

I got it! Great puzzle :)

  30. FileKiwibakerystick on Jan 06, 2012 05:02 AM

Gotta love when that Aha moment hits you.. Nice puzzle

  31. FileDuckiePatanga on Jan 06, 2012 05:39 AM

wow....that second step is not hinted at very directly..... IMHO.

  32. Avatar_profileLemoncourtroy on Jan 06, 2012 07:26 AM

    Cant get the second step......

  33. JellyApplebeemer330 on Jan 06, 2012 08:56 AM

I got "remember to drink your ovaltine". What am i doing wrong?

  34. Art_land_of_free_eagleEggplantJWillOH on Jan 06, 2012 09:08 AM

Second step is a bit vague, but necessarily so. I hope this isn't too confusing, but after you decipher the symbols, **just pretend** that the word "every" is between the fourth and fifth word.
    Nice puzzle dennishiding!

  35. Mangos-big-750570Sailboatkgnanamu on Jan 06, 2012 09:11 AM

[36] - between fourth and fifth or before 'sixth'.

  36. RocklipsCarrotnotyouravggirl on Jan 06, 2012 09:25 AM

Wow, would never have gotten 2nd step on my own. I guess [36] is awfully salty but just what I needed. Thanks JWillOH and Dennis!

  37. Avatar_profileLemonteacup9 on Jan 06, 2012 10:34 AM

[36] did it for me too

  38. FileAppledennishiding on Jan 06, 2012 01:20 PM

Thanks, that this one came out caught me by surprise. Still recovering from start of the year work week. :) Glad a lot of folks figured it out. Yep [36] should help a lot.

  39. Avatar_profileWatermelonjonasgumby on Jan 06, 2012 04:12 PM
