I really am a freaking genius! Best ever for me!!
If heard a lot of similar phrases, but not this one. Seems a little too obscure.
I liked this one, nicely done.
I really like this type of Crypto. Good puzzle, deg.
salt
please
I did this one last because I just wasn't seeing it, came back and still got 84th. The colors really threw me off at first, I focused too much on that.
nice..... I was thinking rainbows, ice cream, then... AHA!!!
Still no clue...it's not "waybealne"..sorry bcgrote for posting a wrong answer...
[8] Yes - the colors are just to keep them all separate
Funny how it seems so obvious to the author... When I put the signs in there, I thought I was making it too easy. Now I think that was an important clue.
Finally got it.....yes, the colors are red herrings.....groan
[12] To be fair only one of them is a "red" herring. The other ones are yellow, green... ;)
[11] I agree that it would have been much more difficult (perhaps too difficult?) without the signs. That was a good addition.
You have to think of a phrase that the picture is illustrating. There are no OWW-type letter games involved.
Nice puzzle, deg!
I think I got my tomato yesterday and didn't notice, is the tomato at 200k points?
Wohooo!!! Got my Ace tonight!
[16] Didn't think it was this close either!
Yay! A featured puzzle from someone other than the "regulars"!
For those who need a hint, Google the two words that are most apparent from the provided clues. That's the only way I ever got this.
Was thrown by the colors at first... Read a few comments, and it came to me. Common expression in my house growing up, but then a lot of odd expressions were. I liked it, but maybe just because I know the expression. :)
Wow! I didn't notice the sign clue at all. It's really not that obscure a saying.
Pretty common saying to me too....Good puzzle for sure...
I've always heard this phrase with a different number, which was the only thing giving me trouble. I went back and counted the number of signs at the bottom, revised my answer, and got it.
[23]you TOTALLY gave it away to me with that. I had no CLUE before.
THANKS!
The answer isn't OWW (I actually tried it)
Just kidding. The initial picture made me think in a OWW way, instead of a crypto way.
The number vs the spelled out number should be recognized. I thought I had it wrong because I didn't spell out the number.
Good puzzle!
You solved this puzzle in 4 seconds!
Cute puzzle.... got it from the thumbnail :)
This was a really great puzzle! Thanks, deg!
You solved this puzzle in 2 minutes and 0 seconds and were the 419th Tanga member to solve it.
Colors threw me.
I was lost but the salt finally sunk in and got it....#435.
I totally didn't figure this one out. I had to wait to see the solution. And yet, I had a similar puzzle published last month" http://www.tanga.com/puzzles/8727-10-1-2011 !
BTW: Mine has a different preposition which gets way more Google hits. It's interesting that no one mentioned the different preposition in the comments above, when they did mention the use of a different number. Perhaps neither phrase is actually used in spoken English enough for people to recall the exact wording?
