I would have totally Featured this, as it's a nice puzzle, but I didn't want to take the chance that it might not work for everyone.

So... please post here if this doesn't work for you. Thanks.

And if you're just here to complain about the fact that it's animated, please TG me and I will give you a long string of letters to anagram :)

    Cute.

My car told me the answer.

I loved this. And [1], you can't please everyone. It should have been featured.

Didn't need all the doors at the bottom, did you?

Edit: Maybe my comment ended up being a bit too salty. Let's just change it to
[7] The bottom doors are relevant :-).

    I'll take door #3, Monty.

Worked for me. [7][8] Yep, I was about to make a different assumption about the meanings of the doors before the ones at the bottom helped me to go to a simpler more correct conclusion.

worked for me. got it from the thumbnail.
[7] since the number of total doors clues you what you are looking for, yes the doors at the bottom are important.

Good puzzle. Didn't notice the animation immediately, then kept refreshing to make sure I was seeing everything in proper order.

  13. FileEggplantDeemiklos on Jan 21, 2012 01:01 PM

    clever!

  14. FileCarrotamaguriken on Jan 21, 2012 01:22 PM

    Good one.

I had thought it might be "Shut the dangblasted door! I'm not trying to air-condition all the county!" but then I noticed my mom didn't make the puzzle. Also, more than one word.

Cool. Wish I had thought of it. Could have been featured.

Animated puzzles are nice and all, but I think there needs to be a mechanism to restart and "single step" through the puzzle.

Maybe a toolbar at the bottom of the puzzle?

  17. FilePotatoGinnyjulie on Jan 21, 2012 05:43 PM

    Loved it.

Thanks for making a legit animated puzzle ArmyKnife. This certainly was one.

[1] The last couple of these tests seemed to have gone over well for everyone. I'd think that the next time around a puzzle such as this could be featured.

You solved this puzzle in 58 seconds and were the 93rd Tanga member to solve it.

Excellent! How do you do that???

    [3] Cute? Not a-door-able?? (sorry..)

Glad this seems to have worked for most people. [16] you can refresh the page to restart the animation (or it restarts on its own automatically after a longer pause). As for single stepping, I kind of like that you have to keep track as it progresses with or without you (only because it's simple enough to do in this case).

[19] I made this puzzle with the help of an online .gif creator. I honestly don't remember this one, but I basically created the sequence of images needed and then uploaded them to some website. You generally have options to choose the speed of the animation, and maybe some other parameters.

[6] I actually did Feature it, originally. But the next day, when I thought about it, it wouldn't be right if a Featured puzzle was literally broken for someone. Sorry, user on some specific OS/Browser, you aren't allowed to solve this one.

Even so, I ran it by Army, and let him be part of the choice. He said it was fine to move it... and so I did.

If it makes anyone feels better, because I initially Featured this, he got the full 250 points for it :)

I'm new here. Loved the puzzle. Worked it on my iPad. Working these puzzles is one thing, but making ones like this requires a whole another level of nerd brain power. (that's a compliment!). Thanks for the fun, I know I can come here anytime.

You never cease to amaze me
