I came late and went to the hyper first. Knew I wasn't going to get too many points but was having too much fun solving this one to rush through it. Oh, and thanks for teaching me a new word (again).
Got here late too....nice puzzle.
I must be on the wrong track - learned a lot about things I didn't need to know!
I would have had it sooner if I had realized that the difference in spelling between a workshop tool and a president's wing man...
For some reason I am totally lost on this one. I got all the four letter words but the seven letter word makes no sense to me.
I'm with [5], there has to be some difference between the words I got and the intended meanings. I give up.
What clues exist in this puzzle that tell you what order to place the words? I finally gave up and revealed the answer, yet even after revealing the answer, I don't see how I should have known in what order to place the words...???
[7] In a word ladder each word differs from the word above it by one letter. So the red arrow at the top indicates that the first word is a 4-letter word for that horned beast. If you know what word that might be, put it there at the top.
Then look at all the pictures, and try to find one whose 4-letter word is the same as the first word, except one letter is different. Then look for an image whose 4-letter word is one letter different from the 2nd word, and put that down in the 3rd slot. And so on.
If you get stuck, you can notice that the picture of jewelry has a red arrow going from it to the bottom word on the ladder. Think of a 4-letter word that describes that image, and put it there, then work backwards by finding an image that is one letter different from the last word, and put it in the next to last blank.
Yes, this was an extremely verbose explanation, but if you're unfamiliar with the concept of a word ladder, hopefully this will make it all clear.
Thank you [8] I needed a lengthy answer. I did not know the word-ladder concept, it makes sense now. Now I'll be prepared for future word ladder puzzles. Thanks again !!!
