argh!!! spelling Ni!!!
Good one! I should have remembered the guy circled in green. Had to look him up.
I missed the crown totally. ARGH!
[2] Never saw the movie, so there was no trying to remember for me.
Didn't do well (although you can usually tell due to the extreme boasting by others), but nice puzzle...
I've got "her"...and that's about it. Who's the dude???
Got here late but fun anyway! loved it
Where's the SALT force tonight?
Excellent!
[8] Not sure, I could use a pint of it though
Is the green circle referencing the person, the character, or the crown???? (I'm pop-culture illiterate)
Clever! Nice job!
Cool; came in late and actually found this one easy to solve for a change! Thanks.
[10] If it isn't too late, the circle is around the crowned character.
party on wayne!
Great one dude...
Party on.
Too bad I was late to the party.
The first two clues were EXCELLENT!!
That was one bitchin' puzzle, dude!
They used the "&" symbol but didn't allow it.
[19] That's an ongoing debate around here. If I use the '@' symbol, everyone knows to spell out "at". If I used ' < ' or ' > ', I suspect people would know to type out "less than" or "greater than", but I guess since the ampersand is used in print almost as much as the word it represents, some people (you included) don't think of it as a symbol representing a word, which is how it was used here.
Except for cases when the answer title or phrase is always written with the ampersand, you can almost bet that a puzzle is using it to clue the word 'and', so you should type it out. The site doesn't allow spelling variations so it can't accept both.
Funny side story: I had a hypercross once that clued "Hootie & the Blowfish". Now, Google autocomplete spells out the 'and' but the band always uses the ampersand. So, I felt I needed to use the ampersand, rather than spell it out. But I didn't want people to get hung up on it (although you'd think it'd be easy enough since a hypercross has to fit the number of blocks provided). So... I actually pointed an arrow to the clued ampersand and said "use this!" Guess what? There were still people complaining that the answer had the ampersand and they couldn't figure it out! lol Just can't win...
Great puzzle. As soon as I figured out that wasnt Ted, I got it!
You solved this puzzle in 3 seconds and were the 381st Tanga member to solve it.
[20] Since OWW and Crypto answer boxes ignore punctuation completely, would an ampersand even be recognized? I'm not sure if it's considered punctuation or not. I suppose if the answer called for an ampersand and the answer field ignored it, nobody would really notice since they'd type it and still get the answer right. Hmmm... Guess it would only be a problem if I wanted a puzzle answer to just be "&"
Primo! :D
[23] I wondered the same thing. Might be time for a test. :)
edit: Uggh. Forgot that being able to 'submit' answers on unpublished puzzles only works on hypers. Oh, well. No test...
