I am completely stumped on this one
[1] You are not alone!
[1] Likewise. No idea where to even start with this.
Very tricky, but several nice ah-ha moments. No math involved. Start in the upper left of the upper left.
[4] Start what in the UL of the UL? Is counting considered math?
maybe if I could figure out why a couple of them have dashes and the others do not, I would have a clue?
[5] Counting is definitely in order, here.
[6] It helps to ignore the dashes, at first. Once you have a handle on the numbers, you can figure out what to with the dashes.
Thank you [4], that did it for me. But it was a long drawn-out process to get there.
This was actually a very nice puzzle, it just needed something to help clue the solve method.
I can't think of a good way to do that, other than to say: Don't over think!
Alright I have an issue with the 7th letter. There is an ambiguity as you proceed along the solve method, in that there are 2 possible paths to take once you get to a certain point (though only one makes sense). The problem is, the number corresponding to that other path is still there and is, as far as I can tell, not used. Given that the method seems to rely on used numbers being "discarded" I find this problematic and irritating. I feel that particular number should simply not exist in the puzzle - perhaps there's something I'm missing though.
[11] It IS used, for the next letter. But it's probably easier to skip the 7th one and do the rest, then come back. Less confusing.
[12] I don't think that it's used for the next letter...
[11] can be confusing to those of us who didn't have a clue, but I got one, thanks, you know who you are. must admit connecting the salt to the solve method was a leap for me.
Interesting idea, but as others have mentioned, there are a couple of ambiguities with the solve method. I think it might have been better to have placeholder zeroes indicate when something should NOT be used.
thanks to the person who helped me.....I would never have gotten this on my own.
[16] Can I get any of that help? I'm completely stumped on this one. (made the previous one seem like magic!)
Edit: thanks for the tg! I have it now. I just wasn't able to connect the dots without some help.
[11] I agree with you. There is definitely an extraneous number in the 7th letter!
Is there an extra "5" at the end of the second row (or beginning of the third row) of the middle dot of the righthand column? This may be what [11] is referring to, since I found that the other ambiguities were ok to deal with.
I did like this one though!
[19] There's an extraneous "5" at the beginning of the third row of numbers in the middle circle in the right column. In other words, "5744" should be "744".
Everything I've tried has an ambiguity; I think I get at least the general concept, but not sure how to apply it.
[20] Thanks Philana and sorry everyone. I fixed it now.
Really lost on this one
Wow that is the first puzzle I have ever seen on this site where even reading the solution I have no idea how the solve method works.
[24] LOL
[15[ Oooo, yeah, that might've worked. I guess Jeb shoulda run this by you instead of me :)
Still lost. Anybody need help with a puzzle from the last 2 days that I can trade for a TG here?
Wow! 71st at 3AM EST on Monday. [9] was salty enough for me as long as I remembered to pick up the pencil now-and-then.
Anybody want to TG me some more salt? I think I know what I'm supposed to do but I don't know how to go about doing it.
Been lost on this one for days....
You solved this puzzle in 2 days, 3 hours, and 26 minutes and were the 91st Tanga member to solve it.
You have to connect the dots to form letters. Like [4] says, start in the upper-left. Notice the first number is 1. You want to connect to the dot with a 2.
You solved this puzzle in 3 days, 22 hours, and 17 minutes and were the 95th Tanga member to solve it.
Thank you kc6201 [30]. I will be eternally grateful for finally allowing me to put this one to rest.
