As this puzzle was made before people started complaining about it, this puzzle does require anagramming.
    But no punctuation.

  2. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:24 AM

Has there been a one word wonder with punctuation?

  3. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:27 AM

[2] Unless the answer is a contraction, I don't see how there could be.

  4. FileEggMurdoctor on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:29 AM

[2] I think there have been a few with apostrophes or hyphens.

  5. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:46 AM

someone solved.... salt us baby :)

  6. Phi3CornPhilana on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:47 AM

    [5] The constructor solved it.

  7. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:49 AM

[6] Hmmm...doesn't even show up in recent activities.

  8. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:50 AM

I know why the colors are important... but I have nothing from there.....

  9. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:50 AM

Well, if the puzzle maker is around to solve it, perhaps they can sprinkle some salt for us. Or does anyone else have an idea? I've tried any number of things, none of which have yielded a reasonable answer.

  10. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:56 AM

i know one thing... I'd have to go back to school to figure this out....

Ahaha!!!! Solved it. number 2 :)

  11. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:58 AM

    also- i didn't need to anagram....despite [1]

  12. FileClockmust67 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:58 AM

I tried using the colors and the states. I've got nothing

  13. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:01 AM

[10] Are you planning on sprinkling some salt for those of us who haven't a clue?

  14. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:07 AM

Does color play a role in solving?

  15. FilePancakestempus42 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:09 AM

I'm guessing you ignore the "CO-ED" colored states?

  16. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:11 AM

color pairs play a huge role.

salt already sprinkled in [10] too.

  17. FileClockmust67 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:12 AM

You assume that Washington DC is in Maryland?

  18. FileEggRPardoe on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:16 AM

[14] Color is a both modest clue especially when combined with the other information and helps avoid anagramming.

[10]'s comment does have some salt

    [17] No

  19. AvatarBananaVotey on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:19 AM

    Woo 4th! No anagramming, either.

  20. New_scout_logoCheeseburgerscoutmom on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:16 AM

Darn! Came up with a word, but not the right one apparently.

  21. FileEggRPardoe on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:22 AM

Co-eds, show your spirit! Color and city are related some way. Make that connection and you are on your way.

To clarify - anagramming involved if you follow the line on the map. No anagramming if you use another key.

  22. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:23 AM

What is even in Due West anyway?

    [21] Is soooo salty

  23. FileClockmust67 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:34 AM

What colors are there? I can't figure out what some are suposed to be

  24. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:35 AM

despite the way they look, the colors are all "uniform"

  25. FileClockmust67 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:39 AM

Indiana is "uniformly" tan? Beige? Dc is transparent?

  26. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:44 AM

rather South Bend is "uniformly" gold and... [16]

  27. FileClockmust67 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:59 AM

I got it but I don't like it

  28. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Aug 28, 2008 08:05 AM

I got it too, but this one was waaaay too much work for 3 points.

  29. Ronald-mcd-3EggKilgore on Thu Aug 28, 2008 08:34 AM

[28] It made you a 'Roads' Scholar...

  30. FilePancakestempus42 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:24 AM

Sorry, I didn't like this one either. Too many ambiguities. (e.g. I was thrown completely off of the allegedly 'easy' answer in Indiana because neither the color nor the city matched in the list I was using...)

  31. Avatar_profileStrawberryastrospoon on Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:52 AM

tempus-- curious what list you used. That was indeed the first one that clicked with me. (Lincoln being the second)

  32. Bunny91Garlicheatherlouwho on Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:22 AM

I got some of the answers, then guessed. Sometimes you just have to go with it.

  33. Soccer_ballCheeseburgersoccer_ref on Thu Aug 28, 2008 08:15 PM

[30] I'm with you on that. I didn't like the fact that on some you only used part of the name. And on many there were several to choose from. I found it very frustrating.

    Wait....you found a LIST????? Man.........

  34. FileTomatoSuperSlug on Mon Dec 08, 2008 03:53 AM

    Nice puzzley one
