    Feb 02, 2007 was a Friday (and Feb 07, 2002 was a Thursday)

    Quiet in here.

At least it was until everyone solved it while I was typing!

Any salt for those of us not so fortunate to be geniuses?
    I've officially overused excel :)

I worry that I'm staring at the smoke-and-mirrors problem here, i.e. that there are just so many things that one *could* do, I don't know what one *should* do.

  8. FileEggMurdoctor on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:35 PM

[7] Yes, but the numbers on the ticket range from 1 to 34. That's a clue for where to use them.

Didn't expect to still be Top Ten. Sweet.

    Clever idea spam...

  11. FileOnionJohn on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:41 PM

I have a six letter word which isn't the answer... is there yet another step to apply?

  12. Donimo_pirate_beatlesEggDonimo on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:43 PM

[11] My six letter word worked. Try again.
[8] was all I needed. I need to learn to count more often. :)

  13. AvatarBananaVotey on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:48 PM

[8] did it for me, too.

  14. Avatar_profileEggplantjammer1001 on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:48 PM

I also went the way of Smoke and Mirrors. You should see my artwork...

The most rewarding puzzles are ones that leave little marks from all the head scratching. Thanks [8].

    Hey! I'm a lemon!

  15. FileApplegilby123 on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:49 PM

Very nice. Once I got how to use the numbers, it all clicked.

  16. FileGrapesxpsdude on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:50 PM

Yep, [8] got it for me as well.

  17. FileDuckiedavey3 on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:53 PM

That was a good puzzle - lots of indexing but I was happy that it didn't send me on a wild goose chase.

  18. FileOnionJohn on Fri Jul 06, 2007 07:53 PM

Well, if anyone else gets the obscure word THAWERS, I know where you went wrong.

I typically dislike cryptos, so trying to ignore that -- this one was ok.

  19. ApparatusGrapesApparatus on Fri Jul 06, 2007 08:01 PM

I just kept thinking ... there.

  20. Avatar_profileApplepyrok on Fri Jul 06, 2007 08:22 PM

That was fun - apt answer too!

spamwise - you're just on a roll tonight, aren't you?!

  21. Avatar_profileWatermelonmaccaj6565 on Fri Jul 06, 2007 08:35 PM

    wow, very nice puzzle.

  22. Avatar_profilePeachwishlish on Fri Jul 06, 2007 08:37 PM

Very fun. [8] is a big dose of salt.

  23. Avatar_profileGrapescferejohn on Fri Jul 06, 2007 09:59 PM

Wow. Everyone is getting it due to [8], and I'm just not getting it. What are there 34 of? Not letters, not cards in a deck. What?

  24. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Jul 06, 2007 10:14 PM

    Spamwise

    MARVELOUS!!!

I am a great fan of the "hlookup" function in excel...

  25. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Fri Jul 06, 2007 10:15 PM

    are you on BGG?
I'll put some seasoning over there...

  26. Avatar_profileGrapesJasonLP on Fri Jul 06, 2007 10:24 PM

    [17] A wild what chase? ;)

Man, I am *this close* to getting this one...

  27. Avatar_profileOrangeMysticNight on Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:14 AM

i liked that one, had to think but not too hard.

  28. FileTomatobcgrote on Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:26 AM

Nice puzzle! Once I got the aha, it all fell into place!

  29. Avatar_profilePlumFermiDisciple on Sat Jul 07, 2007 01:17 AM

"Be sure to drink your Ovaltine..."

    Well done puzzle tonight!

  30. FilePeachespring on Sat Jul 07, 2007 11:59 AM

Well, I too got THAWERS as an answer [18], but found my error (I think). Still stumped on this one though... More salt????

  31. PirateleadfootPumpkinleadfoot on Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:02 PM

    [30] espring
send me a GM (pbleadfoot) with what you have so far and I'll send a nudge in your direction
