And therein lies the problem in America. (Well, one of them). Screw the environment and future generations and the rest of the world. If I can afford it, I want it.
I remember doing an environmental project in high school. A teammate said he didn't care if all the landfills were filling up. He wasn't going to worry about it until they were trying to stash the trash in his backyard. I pointed out that, especially considering how rich his parents were, by the time they were trying to put it in his backyard, it'd be WAY TOO LATE to resolve the problem.
Same thing here. There's only so much oil. Just because you can afford to burn as much of it as you want at today's prices, doesn't mean you should.
Of course, the totally electric cars right now aren't that reliable, so I don't think I'd buy one right now anyway. But the obvious intent of the question is, with money not an object, what kind of a car would you choose?
Unlike Kermit, Tanga is not green... LOL

Husband is DROOLING for a Tesla! The new coupe has enough range to BARELY make it to Vegas.
I really think that the LA to Vegas trip is the defining factor for range. 300 miles is pretty good, and Tesla will get there.
The Leaf is a REALLY cute car, and we see FAR MORE of them here in LA than we do the Volt, which is actually a hybrid/gas car.
For me, if money was no object at all, it would be a Bugatti Veyron AND a Shelby Cobra! And perhaps a Stryker or a Gumpert..
