I don't drink any of them straight, so it was a hard choice.
Gin - I don't like it in anything, so it didn't get my vote
Vodka - Can drink it straight barely. Great in a Velvet Hammer (Russian Bear) - Vodka, Creme de Cocoa and 1/2 & 1/2 equal parts
Whisky - don't like it (although my wife likes scotch straight up
Rum - Needed for a Mojito - the finest drink around
Tequila - Needed for a Marguerita the best frozen drink around
I did pick Vodka as I can drink it straight, but it was a hard choice. Maybe the question should be more specific. What is the best liquor straight up or on the rocks? What is the best liquor for mixing? What is your favourite kind of (fill in the liquor here)?
Haven't drank in over 9 years. But when I did, Scotch was my favourite. [3] if you feel it tastes like kerosene I suggest you are probably buying the way cheap brands. A nice Bells (not that expensive really) or a Talisker are fantastic. Not that I didn't like Bourbon, some are pretty nice, just not as nice and smooth as a good scotch.
Homemade wine, at least the way that I make it, everyone tells me that it is very good, smooth, with the kick of moonshine. Me, I wouldn't know, I haven't drank in over 35 years.
Where is all? Not that I'm a heavy drinker, but I like nearly all of them. Allergic to red wine (and red and purple grapes!) and don't like most rums on their own, and beer only when the weather is above 100 degrees, but I'll take almost any mix!
Love the whiskeys and ciders and tequila, and mix the vodka and gin with stuff. Nice!
Of course, I don't drink much, and NEVER if I'm driving. Sober is usually more fun than drunk!

I don't drink hard stuff anymore (my 50th birthday present to my liver). I do like a good glass of red wine with meals though.

whisky is an awfully big category which could be broken down further... bourbon is my favorite, but scotch tastes like kerosene.

Anything except tequila. One too many as a teenager. Can't even stand the smell.

Not really a big fan of alcohol in general. I'll have a beer or a margarita once in a while - but just doesn't do it for me.

[4], I disagree. I also have an aversion to Scotch, and it isn't because I haven't had good Scotch. It seems some people just like bourbon better.
