Wait, this says puzzle #2. Did I miss puzzle #1 somewhere? I thought tonight was the grand unveiling?

I for one enjoyed the puzzle. I hope to see it survive past the beta phase.

        4. AssetsEggplantDeemiklos on Jan 25, 2012 07:27 PM

Do we get points for solving?

        7. AssetsBananaDBMechanic on Jan 25, 2012 07:31 PM

          Hmm, interesting puzzle.

        8. AssetsGarlicsammydb on Jan 25, 2012 07:34 PM

Well, I actually liked it a lot after I realized that there were categories and "hints." That made it much more fun to solve, as well as easier.

Only criticism at the moment would be the massive amounts of clicking I did back and forth to go through the letters. Made my finger tired, I might have been clicking due to my first sentence as well, since I was trying to create words from tons of random letters!

          Overall: FUN!!

        9. AssetsStrawberryTangaMatt (Tanga Admin) on Jan 25, 2012 07:36 PM

[8] Try using your keyboard - no need to use your mouse with this game at all!

        10. AssetsGarlicbrownie1 on Jan 25, 2012 07:37 PM

          [9] I like the mouse..............

        11. AssetsPepperTangaAl on Jan 25, 2012 07:39 PM

I agree with [8] that this was fun. There's a bit of a learning curve here. In my haste to solve the puzzle, I didn't fully read the tips at the bottom saying to use the keyboard. That made it easier, but the SKIP option made it even better. I spent most of my time solving each word before moving on. I actually solved the first one that way.

One small thing I notice is this: when refreshing the page, it shows me the link to START FINDING WORDS again, leading me to think it didn't save it. But when clicking it, it showed my results.

        12. Avatar_profileKiwipetersenpd on Jan 25, 2012 07:41 PM

Got the first 5 before I saw the category...last 2 were easier.

        13. AssetsPepperdjschwartz on Jan 25, 2012 07:41 PM

[8] "Hints"? Was there something more than the category name?

        14. AssetsAppledanjuwise1 on Jan 25, 2012 07:42 PM

          I enjoyed this one.

        15. AssetsPepperChupper on Jan 25, 2012 07:42 PM

I gotta say... this isn't as fun as the regular puzzles. it's just guess work, not a mind bender

        16. AssetsGarlicsammydb on Jan 25, 2012 07:43 PM

Thanks [9]. I finally read the PRO TIP at the bottom!!

        17. AssetsSailboatBanana80 on Jan 25, 2012 07:44 PM

Once I figured out how to solve it, I liked it a lot! Nice job!

        18. Avatar_profileCherriessarahkray on Jan 25, 2012 07:50 PM

I love this game. Although I think it should have a cheat option. Where it reveals one letter to people like me who had no idea on some of them. :)

        19. AssetsXylophoneDavmar on Jan 25, 2012 07:50 PM

          Nice new game!

        20. AssetsPeachcrashley128 on Jan 25, 2012 08:03 PM

I agree [18] but maybe after 24 hours like the other puzzles. I like these so far. Are there just 2 up tonight?

        21. AssetsDuckieroboroo on Jan 25, 2012 08:04 PM

Thanks [5], found it and finished it. That last word on puzzle #1 was a doozy.

        22. AssetsSailboatriorita on Jan 25, 2012 08:09 PM

          Enjoyed this.

        23. AssetsBananaKatieBabes on Jan 25, 2012 08:11 PM

LOVE this thanks! I think this will be one I try to complete all the time!

        24. Avatar_profileCherriesprofmrvl on Jan 25, 2012 08:11 PM

          Not too shabby. What's next?

        25. AssetsGarlicdrjoe1e6 on Jan 25, 2012 08:20 PM

Enjoyable puzzle, interesting format! Very cool when your first guess pans out.
I think word #7 has two possible answers... if you start with the intended answer, and change the 3rd letter to an E, it fits the category!

        26. Avatar_profileCherriesmarjohns on Jan 25, 2012 08:40 PM

          That was fun.

        27. AssetsBananagalesburgbrat on Jan 25, 2012 08:42 PM

oops.. there was a category? i completely missed it... and i can't refresh and see it either. :-/

        28. AssetsAppleTangaJoe (Tanga Admin) on Jan 25, 2012 08:59 PM

Btw, you can switch letters with the arrow keys.

        29. Avatar_profileCherriesLesPheil on Jan 25, 2012 09:08 PM

          cool

        30. AssetsGrapeskariandjonathan on Jan 25, 2012 09:19 PM

I solved it, so that's always good, but i like looking for clues and connections. maybe there could be be some connection with the words and #7 could be the word that connects them.

        31. Avatar_profileCherriestlo50 on Jan 25, 2012 09:24 PM

          Thanks, that was fun!

        32. AssetsPlumlordebon on Jan 25, 2012 09:29 PM

This really doesn't seem all *that* fun...

On a side note though, I would LOVE if we could see all the letters at once. perhaps have the non-selected letters shown in a smaller size below the ones you have selected.

        33. Avatar_profilePeachgarywebb on Jan 25, 2012 09:38 PM

well, I'll be a monkey's uncle, that was fun.

        34. AssetsPearJMHSRV on Jan 25, 2012 09:51 PM

          so now what?

        35. Avatar_profilePeardeanhick99 on Jan 25, 2012 10:02 PM

Well...I WAS going to bed...but after solving 2 of these, I'm ready for more! ;-) I see a link for a "bonus puzzle," so I'll try that; but, if that's a bust, it's pillow time for this guy. Hope I don't see puzzles in my sleep! Thanks again for the fun...AND the ongoing chance at winning a prize!

        36. Avatar_profilePeardeanhick99 on Jan 25, 2012 10:07 PM

Note: First post, above, says, "[Arnott usurping] Hey, Gang, here's a link to a bonus game:
http://www.tanga.com/wntw/10" ... not correct. That's just the link for puzzle #1, which I guess IS a bonus if you started here w/ puzzle #2...otherwise, we all get to wait for #3 to come out. Till then, take care, "puzzled Tanganites!" :-P

        37. AssetsAppledrbenn on Jan 25, 2012 10:35 PM

Kudos to you. Word puzzles are my personal favorite, and this is a nice fresh approach. However, cycling through the letters is unnecessarily tedious. I think you should just show all four choices for each letter in a column. I wrote them down that way anyway to speed the solving. It levels the playing field for those of us with no short term memory.

        38. Avatar_profileCherrieszfunge on Jan 25, 2012 10:55 PM

          fun game!

        39. AssetsDuckiebargellos on Jan 26, 2012 06:02 AM

I'd like to use my mouse instead of the arrow keys. Please make that change. :)

        40. AssetsPepperChupper on Jan 26, 2012 06:31 AM

[25] An E in the third position would also change the "something smelly" answer to a viable alternative! (though two words)

        41. Avatar_profilePeachAllenKll on Jan 26, 2012 08:36 AM

I also do not see the hints... all I see is the category. I'm using FF 9.0.1, maybe the hints don't show up in my browser? Is it a bug?

        42. Avatar_profilePearpatibird on Jan 26, 2012 08:59 AM

          FUN!!!!

        43. Avatar_profileCherriesredbird53 on Jan 26, 2012 09:01 AM

          LOVE THIS GAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!

        44. Avatar_profileLemonelviscat on Jan 26, 2012 09:39 AM

ENJOYED THE GAMES! WAITING FOR MORE

        45. AssetsAppleTangaJoe (Tanga Admin) on Jan 26, 2012 11:49 AM

[41] The category is the hint.

        46. AssetsPeachbassen247 on Jan 26, 2012 12:41 PM

          THAT WAS FUN!! NEED MORE

        47. AssetsPlumdramafan on Jan 26, 2012 08:58 PM

I like it a lot better than OWW! I feel like I have a much better chance of solving more of these.

        48. AssetsPlumMCGBishop on Jan 27, 2012 06:39 AM

I like the new game! It's so interesting how some of them seem to hit you immediately, but you have to work harder for others. Keep them coming!

        49. AssetsPumpkinJohn on Jan 27, 2012 09:17 AM

That was decent... Would prefer for the words to be united somehow by a theme, but I suppose that's design space for submitters to explore. Thanks for something new!

        50. Avatar_profilePeachvbruss on Feb 01, 2012 09:54 AM

Okay, that was really fun! Who else had the screen minimized and didn't realize there was a CLUE for each word? Okay, just me, then? Well, it did make it more challenging. Hey, at least I figured it out for the bonus game!

        51. AssetsAppledoxeelady on Feb 06, 2012 09:58 AM

I would also LOVE if we could see all the letters at once and have the non-selected letters shown in a smaller size below the ones you have selected. Now I am doing that on paper and it is tedious to copy it all down each time.
I LOVE word games. thanks for adding one!!!

        52. AssetsPotatoSmithyP on Feb 15, 2012 12:23 PM

Something you pick and something bad for you were hard enough, but a weapon required google and randomly entering letter combinations in the search until something worked. Never heard of it and I don't think proper nouns are fair.
