Good Cup, Didn't Fit Me

It's a perfectly fine cup, well made, nicely packaged. It just isn't the cup for me. It's too long for me and kept sliding down, making it uncomfortable. I ended up finding the FemmyCycle is the best cup for me.

If you want a great one go with the si-bell cup

Do your research first. This cup is just too long for me. It is uncomfortable to wear. Even after trimming the stem. If you want a great one go with the si-bell cup. or do your research and order depending on your cervix length and flow. The lilly cup is also a great alternative, very soft material and way more comfortable. Seriously, just do your research.

SO UNCOMFORTABLE

It is so uncomfortable. My cervix measures 6 inches and yet the tip of this thing still pokes out and there is no way to get it in there. Unlike with tampons, this is very obvious that it's there. I will look for a smaller one or just stick to tampons.

It is difficult to use and I was constantly leaking ...

It is difficult to use and I was constantly leaking. It would also be very difficult to have to use in a public restroom as your hands get very bloody trying to take it out. Unless you have a private sink in the restroom you might find it difficult to switch out. It also does not last 12 hours as advertised. I'm returning to tampons.

Eh.

I really wanted to like it and like it enough that I could ditch using pads forever. I practiced with it beforehand, so I was sure I was putting it in right. I put it in during the first day of my period, and somehow it AMPLIFIED my cramps to levels I couldn't handle. Granted, it worked perfectly. Collected all of the blood and kept it from leaking out. But dang. So uncomfortable. Ah well.

Hmmmm...

Maybe I'm STILL not using this correctly but these do NOT work on me at all! I was so excited to start using it, but it seems like when it does work it will work for 2-3 hours then...tip over (?) and everything will spill out! I've tried 20+ times and never been sucessful. :( When I do wear it, I'm constantly thinking about it and worrying it will suddenly spill over. If anyone witnessed that they would probably think I was dying. Just not for me I guess - although I do have several friends who are happy with theirs. I don't have a "disformed" shape uterus or anything...

couldn't do it.

No matter how many times I watched informational videos about how to insert this cup, I just could not get it figured out. It is disappointing because now it just sits in my cupboard and I have no use for it. There has to be an easier way to insert this thing. If anyone has a suggestion, I would love to hear it.

Leaky, messy, difficult removal

First, if you really want to know what your experience with this device will be like, read Ben Dover's review from Aug 23, 2009. Besides being hilarious, I had to agree with everything she experienced in putting it in and trying to get the blasted thing out! I googled diva cup folds in order to see which worked for me. Once I found one, in it went. Pushing this thing up to where its comfy is not a pleasant experience. I did not experience any pops or feelings of it doing into place. Its darn hard to catch that stupid stem though and I can feel it for a while after I put it in until my body habituates. There is some mild cramping initially, but soon goes away. Leaking - more on some days than on others, but YES IT LEAKS, so wear pads with this! (Never had this problem with tampons or soft cups.) Cleaning is nasty and there is some staining of the cup. Urinating - uncomfortable at the very least with a scary sensation of being blocked up. Removal - impossible without bearing down and slightly painful at times due to a suction feeling like your insides are being pulled out. Its not pleasant. Longevity - I read somewhere these least for a few years. The product insert says max 1 year. Instead softcups are much more easier to insert (and remove once you figure out the bearing down part). Also, I never experienced any leaking with them nor a feeling of being blocked when urinating. I stopped using them and tried the diva cup because of the cramping I experienced with soft cups and that mild sense of panic each time I couldn't quite grab the rim of the cup to remove. I might keep using the diva cup for my lighter days, but go back to soft cups for the heavier days. Why won't I go back to tampons? 1. because the previous occupant of our house stuffed a bunch of tampons down the toilet and blocked up the septic tank, so difficult to dispose hygenically. 2. tampons dry out my internal linings and that's uncomfortable 3. no risk of TSS 4. better for the environment 5. diva cup and soft cups can be used for a longer period of time (12 hours) before needing changing which I LOVE! It would be nice if the company had a cheaper, less durable version you could buy to try and if you liked it, then you could purchase the more expensive/durable cup. I guess for new users I would recommend trying soft cups before moving to the diva cup. Its a lot cheaper (less than six dollars at walmart) and will give you an idea of what it will be like to use and remove the diva cup.

Not comfortable for me!

I hate that I wasted money on this cup. I have tried and tried to make it work and it’s just too long. It constantly feels like it’s hanging out and if rubs and is uncomfortable. I don’t want to give up trying a cup so I’m going to try a different one. This one isn’t for us ladies with a short cervix.

Too wide, not a good fit. Painful in & out

I wanted to like this. I love the idea. I wanted a more natural alternative. I was skeptical to begin with about how it fits in. But I read a lot of reviews and asked around. Everyone says it's soft and they love it. Nope. Not me. When it arrived my husband looked at it and laughed and said there is no way you're going to use it. The diameter is huge. And I ordered the smaller one even though I'm 35 and have had a child (c sec). I folded it into the triangle. Even folded it still has a diameter much, much wider than a super tampon (which I could never use). And folded it becomes very firm, any flexibility is gone. it was difficult to get in and painful. The directions tell you once inserted you have to turn it 360 degrees holding the base not the stem. So they expect you to have this super wide object already inside your canal and then fit your fingers around that to be able to get a good enough grip to turn it?!?? How is that even possible? It wasn't possible for me unless causing extreme pain. So I just turned it with the stem. Once it was in it was fine. Comfortable. I didn't even push it all the way up bc I was worried it would get stuck and it was still comfortable. But when it came time to take it out, Omg. Even more pain. Again they say you need to grip the base to remove it. But like I said before it's hard to fit more inside. It took me forever to get that thing out. I was on the ground squatted pushing all the while trying to get a grip on the base . Bearing down , rocking. I tried just using the stem to pull even though they advise against it but that didn't work. There was a strong suction. I was finally able to get a grip on the base. But not high enough to fold it just enough to grip and pull and Holy cow did it hurt pulling it out unfolded. It felt like I was being ripped. I can't imagine having to go through all of that anywhere but my own bathroom.
