The owl is a long-standing symbol of wisdom and knowledge. Athena, the ancient mythological Greek goddess of wisdom, took the owl as her symbol. This intricately detailed trinket box, crafted from cold cast resin features a white snow owl resting upon a stack of scholarly volumes and a piece of parchment paper. The books underneath the parchment display intricate gold Celtic knots which suggest the scholarly content within. The top blue book separates from the others to reveal a small compartment in which one may deposit any academic articles, e.g. paper clips.
