I use larger litter pans around the house, but use the sifter with a three pan system. I pour the litter out of the litter pan #1, (the actual one the cats use) into litter pan #2 through the sifter pan. Then dump the waste in the sifter into the #3 pan. Then scrape out any stuck litter in pan #1 into pan #3 as well. Pour all litter that is now virtually clean in pan #2, back into pan #1. Then repeat with all litter pans. We have 4 large litter pans around the house, and it takes me about 5-8 minutes in total to refresh them all this way daily... Add new litter as needed as the waste removes some litter from each pan each day. With this system we use about 1-2 bags of litter per month about 10 cats using the four pans, and the house never smells. We have tried this with Worlds Best and it works well without concrete build up that occurs with most clay based litters. Because of the price of that litter, I resisted using it and we used to use wood pellets....the pellets weighed a ton cleaning took much longer...and there was much more waste every time I tried to clean them... overall, the ease of using this system, the light weight of the litter and the less waste that seems to be generated I think makes this as economic as the $8- 40 lb bags of pellets we used to use.. As noted by another reviewer, the supplied litter pans are too small and too short to really want to use them at all as litter pans...so we use larger pans with taller sidewalls instead for all three pans including the two "cleaning" pans, but the sifter fits inside them fine for pouring. I like this better than using a scoop to clean on the pan as the scoop breaks up the clumps and leaves more dirty litter behind to mix with the clean litter and means you have to do a total replacement of litter more often than you do using the sifter....great system

We have been watching these litter pans ever since they came on the market at a MUCH higher price. My husband had just said to me that if I ever saw this product, I was to buy two of them! SOOO easy, and the cat uses them just fine!

This is great. My cat was being attacked by the next door cat every time she went outside...so, she started pooping and peein in the house. She used this as soon as I put it place. Now! No more poo and pee in the house. WHAT A RELIEF!
