The name and look of this tool reminds me of something from late 19th century rural America which added to its charm. I was really disappointed to find it was, of course, made in China; therefore, it’s not worth $40.

Worked pretty good on small east to manage weeds, but after a few months of use, mine broke. The wooden handle broke on a patch of grass where the ground was wet, shouldve come out pretty easy but it didn't.

This is a great product and very sturdy. However, be advised that it will not work well on all types of weeds and in all conditions. For example, foxtail grass weed is problematic as the weed does not have a single root but a grass type root with multiple shoots. Also, if ground is particularly dry or hard, the spike portion of the tool will not penetrate easily. Given those caveats, it is still an excellent tool with certain weeds under the right conditions and beats chemical weed killers any day.

I liked that it popped the weed out of the ground easy. However, the pain is pulling each weed and soil out of the teeth of the weeder. Other weeders have a mechanism to release the pulled weed. On this one each weed has to be pulled out manually. For me this keeps it from being ergonomic nor easy to use.

I would agree that if you get the weed or in the right place on the weed, it does work well. Getting it in the right place can be a challenge. Over and over again I missed and I was digging dirt out of it. It got very frustrating.

This works really well for dandelions but not for larger or smaller weeds. If there are a lot of dandelions, it still takes longer to use this tool, because you still have to lift it up and clean the tongs after each weed - because the soil sticks to it (in high clay areas like SE Michigan). I use it once in a while, but I have mostly reverted back to getting down on the ground.

I used it to pull small scotch broom weeds. I’m 6’1” tall and the handle wasn’t long enough so I had to bend over to use it. I also felt that the wooden handle was about to break, so the tool is limited to very small weeds. So in summary the handle should be longer and a wooden handle isn’t strong enough

Used it on about a 100 dandelions. Good luck hitting the center every time like it requires. I’ve pulled out chunks of healthy grass instead of wend roots and sometimes the root slides through the print so you have to attack at another angle. Other thing I don’t like is that it just snaps the root instead of pulling the whole thing out. So we’ll see if it does the job or a temporary fix. Started noticing the handle bows when you tilt to activate the leaver so I’m not confident this thing lasts a season.

I’ve given three stars and I will update once I attempt to use this again. Took it out of the box ready to use it appears to be easy to use it’s a little shorter than what it appeared to be in the picture I’m only 5 foot eight and I’m bending over to use it it is awful and wet ground completely gets clogged up with mud or mulch I will edit this post after attempting to use it one more time

It is sturdy and works well. The only fault I see is that it does not go very deep. I have several weeds that have deep roots and the length of the prongs is not sufficient enough to get those.
