I used it in a lamp on my nightstand. It's brightness is liken to any LED bulb. It turns on when I clap, sneeze or talk loud. But it did not turn on when I walked by or when I waved my hand under the bulb. It only stayed on for 30 seconds after it detected the noise from the clap and sneeze. It stays on if switched to regular setting. I will be returning it as it only detects sound but no motion. I had bought it to use it for when I'm not home, but doesn't work as described.
