One of Today’s Deals is the UbiRock. Since we can no longer post questions/comments on the items, I thought I’d try to get some info here. The UbiRock is a transducer so my question is: I’m deaf – If I put this on top of my head, would it use my skull as a sounding board and transmit the sound through my brain so I could hear it? Or maybe vibrate my ear drums to create sound my brain could detect? Unlike the Cochlear implant which uses electrical stimulation to the acoustic nerve, could this work as an external vibrating eardrum?

Does anyone have the UbiRock? Perhaps you could offer some advice, or try it on your own head and tell me what happens. I’m sure Patanga and Brownie1 have used it for other purposes and I don’t want to know about that.
