Links to old discussion pages not working

Links to old discussion pages not working

yvensong noticed that clicking on
http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/puzzle-makers-guidelines
instead redirects you to the default general discussion page.

I just checked into this, and it would seem that other (all?) links to sufficiently old discussion pages have the same problem: they redirect you to the default “general discussion” page.

If I try to access
http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/puzzle-makers-guidelines (which no longer works)
via Google, I get redirected to
http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/4346fa658/puzzle-makers-guidelines (which does work).

Similarly, if I want to access
http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/puzzler-faqs (which no longer works)
via Google, I get redirected to
http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/d347d609f/puzzler-faqs (which does work).

On the other hand, even though I found the link to the page
http://www.tanga.com/forum/blogs/1651-Top_Reasons_Submitted_Puzzles_are_Rejected
via Google, it does not redirect me to a functional page.

It would be nice if tanga could fix this (not holding my breath, though). In the meantime, does anyone know a better way of looking for these “new” links other than seeing if Google happens to be able to redirect me to the newly named page?

FYI: Here is exactly what I do in Google (using the “puzzle makers guidelines”) page as an example…
• Google “site:www.tanga.com puzzle makers guidelines”
• Look for the tanga page I want (it’s usually near the top)
• Google’s link for the page is the same address, but for some reason Google (sometimes) is able to redirect you to the newly named page.
