Yeah, the news sucks. The Mods and I have actually known for a week or so, and watching life go on here during that time has run the gamut from bittersweet to painful to, at times, rather depressing. Because it’s not just the puzzles that are leaving Tanga, it’s this Forum, as well. And without this, and without the comment section on puzzles, there’s no place for us to talk publicly to each other.

So really, the bigger loss here is the community.

What the Mods and I have been doing during this past week is sharing. And that’s been both helpful and, in a weird way, nice. So I encourage any of you out there willing to share something about yourself: go for it.

As for the puzzles, well… we’re gonna keep putting them out until the lights go off. And my plan is to Unfeature everything we have left during that final weekend (28-29).

Puzzlemakers: if you feel up for it, I’d love for you to post stuff along the lines of: This is my favorite of my puzzles, and why. And/or this is, I think, my best puzzle, and why. And/or this is the puzzle I’m most embarrassed about, or this the puzzle that took f o r e v e r (kicked my ass), and why. I’m not looking for links as much as I’m looking for stories.

Oh, crap… yeah… the Archives are going away, as well. I assume most puzzlemakers likely have copies of their puzzles on their computers, but if not, you have until the end of the month to get them here.

FYI: NONE OF THIS DATA IS BEING ERASED. It will all still exist on a Tanga server somewhere. It’s just none of us will have access to it anymore through Tanga. In the event that Thought Lobster (or some such) does surface, all of these puzzles (and their comments) and the various Forum threads will return in their original, some-puzzles-with-broken-images condition :)

Okay… there’s more stuff I plan on doing and saying, so keep checking this space (as if you aren’t gonna do that already).
