Anybody else currently feeling gut wrenching anxiety about a child/ren leaving home for college?
I have one freshman; we moved her last week. Not too far away-30 min.- but her college-WVU- is on the top 10 party school list and she’s in the marching band, and she can be gullible at times, and I don’t know if she has party smarts.There was a mugging and beat down right outside her dorm last night, and a student was hit by a car 3 blocks away-same night! Woe is me!
The older dau. just turned 21 is in 4th yr of a 5 yr program. First 3 were nearby, at a small private college [W&J] in small city. Now in a few hrs, we are moving her to Cleveland. Only 3 hrs away, but Cleveland! [sorry to any natives] She’s spent time in large cities but never more than a month and usually with a friend or small group.We’re coming home the same day, so I kind of feel like we’re throwing her to the wolves! Woe is me!! I just have an overwhelming uneasy feeling.
I have vented some. 4:41 am, I’d better try to nap!
Anybody out there with any info; do’s, don’ts, tips etc about living at Case Western Reserve University or the Cleveland area, I’d be extremely grateful!!!
