The Third Official Tanga Hypercross Clue-Making Contest
The category: The Top 200 Companies of the Fortune 500

Here’s how it works:

• Everyone can submit TWO (2) entries. Two only, please.

• Your entry must be a 400×300 pixel Hypercross clue whose answer is the name of one of the first two hundred Fortune 500 Companies. For the purpose of this contest, your answer must come from this list: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/2012/full_list/
and must use the spelling from this list, as well.

(NOTE: you need to toggle to 101-200 to see the next batch of companies)

• You are allowed to chop off part of the company name if doing so doesn’t hurt the “integrity” of the name. For example: You could change “Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America” to “Guardian Life Insurance,” or even just “Guardian Life.” “Genworth Financial” would be acceptable as “Genworth .” And “US Airways Group” can be “US Airways,” or even “US Air.” “Corp.” “Cos.” etc. can be removed… but that’s your choice – you do not have to do this. If you think it’s more fun to clue out the entirety of “Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America,” then go for it.

• All entries should be Tangagram’d privately to me with the Subject Line FORTUNE 200 HYPER. Do not post them here, on this thread… not that you could if you wanted to, as I’ve disabled that feature :)

• When I feel I have enough “good” answers, I’ll build the Hypercross and Feature it for all to solve.

DISCLAIMER: Since this will be a Featured Hypercross, “good” will be determined by me and will be entirely subjective. If I get multiple versions of the same answer, I’m gonna choose the clue that I think is the best version, regardless of whether it was the first version submitted. If that eliminates BOTH of your clues, I’ll TG you and give you the chance to create an additional entry.

Also, since this is a contest, I will be doing MINIMAL (if any) “editing” here… mostly for format, not content.

• The DEADLINE for entries is 7pm, Tanga time, on Thursday, February 14. That gives everyone a week. Unless we don’t have enough clues (highly unlikely), in which case I’ll extend it.

Determining Winners
In addition to being able to solve this Hypercross when it’s Featured, users will also be asked to VOTE for their THREE (3) favorite clues. All votes will be public – posted in the Comment Field for the puzzle – and are worth ONE (1) point each.

There will be two categories of winning:

1) Favorite Clue, as determined by the solvers
This will be the clue that gets the most points from everyone who DIDN’T enter the contest. People who created clues may not vote for winners in this category.

This winner gets: 300 Tanga Points.

2) Favorite Clue, as determined by the entrants
All people whose clues made it into the Hyper will be required to vote for THREE (3) clues, and CANNOT vote for their own clue. I will also be voting in this category, mostly to break ties.

This winner gets: 150 Tanga Points.

Mods are perfectly eligible to enter.
And yes… there will be badges.
