Puzzlethon Wrap-Up [EDIT] WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Puzzlethon Wrap-Up [EDIT] WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Hey, All,

Whew, who’s ready for some sleep?

I’m glad to hear that most of you had a good time. I was really happy with the way it all turned out. Of course, a HUGE part of that was having a really nice batch of puzzles to pull from this time around. It makes all the difference. So thank you, Puzzlemakers!

As always, in those last 15-20 minutes, I felt the pain of all those sending me TGs asking for help. I tried to reply to as many as I could, as fast as I could. And I see that I helped most of you, but alas, some of you just ran out of time :(

I liked that the final puzzle wasn’t so much “hard” as it was a bit of a runaround. So that it wasn’t just a quick gimme, but it wasn’t a blank-stare stumper, either. Alas, the most common problem people had was starting with an incorrect word list. And while there’s nothing I could have done about that, it still hurts me a little hearing some of your stories. But at least there wasn’t a typo in it or anything :)

I was sure Murdoctor’s was gonna have the least number of solves, but it turns out that AdamMcD’s second one (the “Gee” one) took that honor. Followed by a close three-way tie(ish) between TangaAl’s “Afterglow” puzzle, Zxo’s “Submarine”, and Doc’s.

Actually, the puzzle with the fewest solves was mine, the final one – only 96 people made it before 7pm. Which was surprising to me, as the previously mentioned least-solved puzzles were all around 120. I would have thought we’d get close to that number at the end.

I’ll figure out the drawing tomorrow. As well as the badges. Heh, in fact, more likely Monday for all of that :) It’s time to crawl back into bed.
