I have osteoarthritis that has affected my middle finger on my right hand-if I close my fist like when gripping a sharp knife handle, my middle finger locks and so far, the only way I can unlock it is to massage the joint while submerged in warm water for about 15 minutes until it finally releases. If it doesn't "unlock" I will have to head to the emergency room. Using the finger sleeve keeps me from completely bending that finger but still gives me flexibility. Several times before getting the sleeve, I would awake after making a fist in my sleep and pray as I headed to the sink for hot water massage. Wearing the sleeve to bed has prevented the problem. During the day, the sleeve keeps me from completely bending my finger.
