CHANDLER, AZ, September 13, 2016 — For the third year in a row, Inc. magazine ranked Tanga.com as part of its annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Tanga’s three year sales growth of 162% earned them entry to the list that has featured companies such as Yelp, Pandora, Timberland, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, LinkedIn, and Zillow in the past.
“Since bootstrapping this ‘garage startup’, we’ve worked hard to build Tanga to become the marketplace for deal-seeker,” said Jeremy Young, CEO and founder of Tanga. “Being recognized on the Inc. 5000 list for three years in a row has been a huge motivation for our small company. We’re so grateful for our loyal customers that have saved millions of dollars with our deals.”
After a failed business in 2006 left Jeremy Young with inventory to move, he launched Tanga.com to sell off his stockpile of goods, one item each day at 50% or more off retail price. Customers clamored for more discounted items, so Young added products from all verticals. Since that time, millions of customers have enjoyed Tanga’s daily deals on mainstream brands at liquidation prices.
Tanga’s marketplace business model stands apart in the industry as the company caters to a different customer. Unlike large marketplaces that rely on considered purchases, Tanga tempts shoppers with an impulse treasure hunt on a budget. And while competitors turn to machines to make sense of shopper patterns, Tanga brings the warmth of human interaction back into the digital experience. For nearly a decade, Tanga has been on a mission to reinvent the experience of online shopping. It is moving rapidly towards the fulfillment of its mission of “Matching Products to People” through what is internally referred to as “the secret sauce” – a vision of personalization supported by the human touch.
“What surprises me, even though I know it’s coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “What doesn’t change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship.”
Tanga will be honored at the annual Inc. 5000 event held October 18-20 in San Antonio, Texas. For more information on Inc. and the Inc. 5000 Conference, visit http://www.inc.com/.

Tanga Integrates with ChannelAdvisor to Create a Personalized E-commerce Experience for Deal-seeking Shoppers
Chandler, AZ—August 29, 2016—Tanga (www.tanga.com), the marketplace for deal-seekers, today announced that it has completed its integration with the ChannelAdvisor platform as part of the company’s Access ChannelAdvisor program. Many retailers use the ChannelAdvisor platform to list, manage and track their merchandise sales across hundreds of online channels like Amazon, eBay and Walmart.
Tanga’s integration with ChannelAdvisor provides a new outlet for marketplace sellers, allowing them to broaden their reach by easily exposing their catalog to Tanga’s deal-hunting customers.
Tanga’s business model stands apart as it caters to a different customer than other marketplaces. Unlike marketplaces that rely on considered purchases of its customers, Tanga tempts deal-savvy shoppers with best-of-web pricing on branded merchandise.
Tanga’s secret sauce is personalization. Many marketplaces strive to create a personalized shopping experience by analyzing shopper patterns and product data to make recommendations. Tanga takes a different approach, adding human insights to deep product knowledge and customer behavioral analysis, creating an individual shopping experience.
“Access ChannelAdvisor allows all manner of e-commerce channels to integrate with the ChannelAdvisor platform, so retailers can access more channels of demand like Tanga,” said Mark Vandegrift, ChannelAdvisor vice president of product management for Marketplaces. “Tanga is a go-to marketplace for deal seekers, and it provides a great opportunity for retailers to showcase their products to Tanga’s loyal customer base. We are excited to provide a seamless retail-to-customer experience on Tanga so our customers can expand their online presence to reach Tanga’s deal-seekers.”
The addition of a marketplace to Tanga’s format of exclusively featured deals has opened up a wealth of opportunities for Tanga’s shoppers and vendors. For Tanga’s customers, the new marketplace products mean even better product matches. The company’s focus on personalization and the increased depth of its product catalog means a unique shopping experience, punctuated by the thrill of discovery at every click. For vendors and other partners on ChannelAdvisor, Tanga’s new marketplace format means that their best deals will have the undivided attention of deal-seekers nationwide. Tanga will continue featuring the best curated daily deals and flash sales on its front page.
“We couldn’t be more excited to offer our shoppers an expanded catalogue of deals that came with Tanga’s transformation into a marketplace,” said Jeremy Young, Tanga’s CEO. “Integration with ChannelAdvisor is an important step in realizing our vision of matching products to people. With the dramatically expanded product offering we will be able to even better deliver the experience of the high-value, ultra-human personalized shopping that today’s shoppers crave.”

We at Tanga take pride in our company culture that includes a Movie Poster wall, a Baby Pictures wall, daily planking, weekly meditation, corporate Bitmoji, dress up days, community service, monthly off-site events and more! Our main cheerleader and CEO Jeremy Young aka TangaMonkey mapped it out for Entrepreneur.com. Dive in!
“Serial entrepreneur Jeremy Young has started and sold a series of companies for up to eight figures each, including comedic T-shirt retailer, LOLShirts.com and artisan retailer BelleChic. Currently, he’s the CEO of daily deals company Tanga, in Chandler, Ariz. The veteran entrepreneur sees company culture as the key ingredient in a successful startup.
He says a strong culture boosts revenues, profits, stock price and valuation. However, “culture isn’t something that comes naturally,” he said at Phoenix Startup Week, an event sponsored by Chase for Business. “As a CEO, you have to think about culture and build it.”
During his keynote address at the event, Young shared his opinion on 13 ways a company culture can get derailed in a startup…."

“Someone tells me they doubled the traffic to their website through marketing. I want to know, was it from 100 users to 200 users or from 1 million to 2 million?” says Matt Verbin, CFO and hiring manager of e-commerce platform Tanga.com. “Or they say they cut costs by doing X, Y and Z. Great, but what financial impact did that have? Hiring managers love seeing dollars and quantities of impact.”
