It heats up quickly but I assumed that I would be able to plug it in, either in my house or my car, bring it up to 100%, unplug it then use it. But instead, it only has a plug for the car and the wires are permanently connected to the scraper. While, the weather hasn't be bad here in CT yet after I received it, I would think that the act of scraping with either the wires clanking on my car while plugged in inside or having to roll the wires up in my other hand while scraping, will be a comedy video. Really, somebody didn't think this product through or have it tested first.

I was skeptical on how effective this would really be on ice, as that seems to be the biggest hurdle when it comes to weather issues and my car. I hate having to wait for the car to pump out enough heat through the defroster vents to melt the entire windshield. This helps so much! The element is surprisingly effective in melting ice and frost, while the scraper and squeegee help remove the rest. I love that it has a built in flashlight, as well as the fact that the cigarette lighter outlet plug fits directly into the handle so it's less likely to get damaged. I really wish I had this in December. I received this item at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
