Using simply a chisel and a hammer, the crafters make these beautiful works of art. Pieces may vary slightly due to the hand crafting and hand painting that goes in to each piece of Caribbean art. The bright colors of these wall hangings will certainly bring with them a little bit of the tropical Caribbean flair and style to your home decor.All of the hand painted metal items are hand cut from recycled steel 55 gallon drums. They have been cleaned, halved and beat into flat sheets by hand. The pattern, is then drawn onto the metal to be skillfully cut with hammer and chisel into the desired shape. Then the true sculpting of the piece begins. Using a variety of chisels, the lines of definition are carefully applied in all of the right places, certain parts are pounded to round out the body of the piece, while other areas are cut and lifted. When complete, a rust preventive paint is applied and then the painted artwork begins. The skilled artisans strive toward realism and keep the quality of these designs up to a high level.
