Great for the price

Great for the price. First off, I tried the cheaper version from local retailer for $180 which was 1366x768, which I believe is 720p? I returned it and purchased this one, definitely a noticeable difference in display quality. Dont expect this to do everything a laptop can do, because it wont. You cant print unless it is via cloud printing or copying to sd card and transferring to regular computer which to me is the biggest con to this device, I also wish itunes was available but it is not. My intended purpose for this device is web surfing, netflix, youtube, google docs, which it does very well. The display is very good, the speakers are also pretty impressive for being a laptop like device. I have noticed that being fully charged it estimates 6 hour battery life, with the cheaper version I had it would go 9 hours, I may have to contact the seller on that. If you are not familiar with Chomebooks research before buying, it is basically all dependent on having a internet connection and in my opinion is useless without one, with that being said it can be tethered to you're phone and use the phones data to connect to the web which is huge to me and gives it the capability of being used outside the home on the go which is great. You can also use a USB flash drive or SD card for expanded memory but it does stick out a half inch roughly for the SD which is pretty annoying. I would rather have this over a tablet any day, you can type on it and watch videos without having to try and prop it up or buy some case to hold it up, to me its basically a laptop version of a tablet that is much more useful than a tablet. I think it is very portable, although some disagree with that. This processor seems to be very quick and responsive for what I use it for, and usually having 2 to 6 tabs open on the web at any given time. Comparable laptops with some of the features on this chromebook go for well over what I paid for this.

PC goes full circle to become a User Terminal.

It's hard to find fault with this Chromebook...not that I want to! It's a very elegant device, and it does everything it's supposed to do... Would I like the screen to be a bit brighter? Sure. But then somebody would have a problem with battery life. Can I live without the speakers? Sure. But somebody else would squawk about that. Could the keyboard be a tad roomier? Maybe, but it's not that bad, and I have big fingers. Any complaints about this device remind me of the SNL sketch where the Chinese factory workers confront the picky little critics who complain about everything including 'too much foam in their Latte'. Maybe it's just Friday, but I feel grateful to live in a Country where I can get a wonderful computer like this delivered to my house in less than a week, exactly what I ordered, in perfect working order! Part of the reason I bought it was to give a big F YOU! to Microsoft as they are about to release Windows 10, and knowing that I will never have to wait for another Windows Update, or Anti-Virus update again. I have lived through Windows 2.0, 3.1, 95, 98, CE, ME, NT, (Cement!) XP, Vista, and 7.0. How many total months of my life have been wasted waiting for those damn updates. Sure, I have some issues with Chrome, but Google is very good about allowing users to tailor their environment they way they want it, and I have no doubt that I'll soon be able to get very comfortable on this Chromebook. I would hate to be a Computer manufacturer today, trying to make everyone happy, which of course is impossible, but I think Acer took their best shot and came out pretty well. Is this the last computer I ever buy? Of course not. Will there be better, faster, and cheaper computers in a year of two? You bet. But I'll be happy with this Chromebook for quite a while. And I would expect that Microsoft will soon accept that any software which is updated as frequently as Windows needs to be in the Cloud. UPDATE: This Chromebook is still great, however, I do miss the 'delete' key and the 'Pg Up/Pg Dn' keys. Also I have discovered that the key to a great Chromebook experience is the QDESKTOP app! All it does is allow you to place shortcuts on your Desktop. How important is that? Very! Cuts down dramatically on your mouse clicks! If I leave my CB in Sleep mode, I can flip it open, click on a large Gmail icon and Boom! I'm in my Inbox or any other app. I don't know about the 'shelf' or 'tray' but it doesn't make any sense to me to leave this huge desktop screen completely blank.
