I have thin hair, but my beard is a rough and curly mess that knots up and pulls hairs out. This straightener works really well. I had my doubts but it brushed right through the mess. It straightened it out, and seems to soften it up like the rest of my hair. Makes it longer because it's not all balled up anymore. Good value for the price
