Beautiful but expensive for size and function

I used a gift card so this lamp was practically free and I had been admiring it for awhile but it still may be going back : / I knew this lamp was going to be small but it was a good size for where I needed it so I decided to buy it anyway despite it being pricey. Even knowing all this ahead of time when I received it I was left disappointed. $20-$25 seems more reasonable for the size. If it was better designed/well made I wouldn’t have a problem with $35 knowing ahead of time to expect it to be (very) small. I haven’t figured out how to take the shade off, it almost seems like the shade can’t be taken off but maybe it’s just me. In my opinion this greatly diminishes the value. If you want to change it up with a different shade, it doesn’t seem like you can. I also wanted to use it without the shade so a decorative flame bulb could be used and seen. Lately it seems like Target’s design aesthetic is great like always but it’s value and quality have gone downhill. In the end, this product seems like more trouble than it is worth.

Do not recommend :(

It's a beautiful lamp with with very poor functional design. The placement of the switch in relation to the shade is terrible. It's difficult to reach and you can't avoid touching the shade every time. I can only imagine how disgusting the shade will get eventually. The shade just sits to low. It needs to sit at least an inch higher and the switch at least an inch lower. The switch also feels quite flimsy as others have mentioned.
